He looks huge for a 6'2" guy. If his eyesight, which supposedly addressed this off season, was the issue and we resign Sway, we may have a great tandem, aka Rask and Halak. Fingers crossed.
The glass just exists right now. Not sure if I’ve even poured anything into it.

His first save was a breakaway was it not?
Wasn't tested often, but made saves on some pretty high danger chances.
Should be easy to cheer for this guy, being an underdog and all. I'm not looking for top 5 stuff, just give this team compentant goaltending until the Swayman impasse ends.

How so? Comeback player of the year is for players coming back from serious injuries.
Not sure a bruised ego from being one of the worst goalies in the NHL last year would qualify for that.

Anyone who plays for Ottawa undergoes castration. He's getting his balls back here.
Why are you hating on this guy? Lets give him a chance behind a legit NHL team and lets see how he performs. I bet he will be just fine.
A period and a half with not much work but he looked solid and looked like a NHL goalie.
Cant say that about the other goalies that have played so far. Looking forward to seeing the fin bottle thrower play a period or two

Why am I hating? Here’s a list
1) I think his contract sucks and he sucks.
2) I put almost zero weight into what he did in 1/2 a preseason game.
3) I hated the Ullmark trade as it had almost zero impact on improving the playoff roster
4) even if he plays “fine” I have zero interest having one of the most expensive backups in the league if we are going to pay swayman to be a top goalie
5) he was not only one of the worst starters but worse all around goalies in the league last year. Ottawa should have been giving up assets to unload his contract

Korpisalo had a 2.82 GAA at 5v5 last year according to natural stat trick. So even worse than what would be expected with their defense.

Linus had better and more consistent stats in Buffalo, but kind of a similar situation. Plug him into a team with one of the better, if not the best systems for a goalie and he can easily get his form back. Potential is absolutely there for him to be a solid backup who can lighten the load for Sway.

It's going to be a busy year in Ottawa for Ullmark, but he's a great goalie and should be able to save them more than a few games.
