Jones open to/working with Blackhawks on trade

On 32 thoughts this morning, Friedman insinuating that the locker room and management are not happy with Jones right now. So yeah we were right about him being toxic.

Still, they’ve said they’ll try to make a deal work, but it’s complicated, so that’s frustrating.

I think it’s his agent and his way to get moved.

dude is a flaming asshole. I get that management needs to showcase him in order to move him but his teammates know he is a selfish asshole who would rather fire puck into defender shin pads then pass to Bedard on PP. That type of shit doesn't go unnoticed in locker room

Do we think there might be any pressure to move him before the draft? Seems we are looking for young NHL talent in return…possibly someone to play with Bedard?

We know KD has a ton of pressure to get CB some help this off season. Whether it be through trade, FA, or draft. If we acquire a young high end FWD by trading Jones, there’s less pressure to select Misa/another FWD over Schaefer/another D if we happen to get lucky enough to have our pick. Also less pressure to make a big splash in FA this off season.

Agreed. But say we land at 1oa. Schaefer seems to be a lot of people’s #1. Blackhawks position of need probably leans FWD.

So KD would have pressure to pick the BPA (Schaefer?) but on the other hand also receiving pressure to draft a FWD for Bedards sake. If we trade for a true Bedard line mate before the draft, that alleviates some of that.

But I may just be wishful thinking and becoming impatient.

Would prefer the luck happen via positioning in 2026. Just get that 2nd overall and
get misa...
Jones can collect his $$$, go to work, and can it. It's about the team, and what is best
for the team. Move him this summer as it appears to be easier and more lucrative.

The gap between Schaefer and Misa isn’t as big as some would make it out to be. Top C or a top D. If we draft Schaefer we aren’t trading KK for a great high upside forward like many seem to think we will. D is the least of our concerns and this team needs a #1C and offense in general we have 1/3rd of a first line right now and if Misa is centering Bedard or if he is the 2C and taking away some of the burden it makes life easier for Bedard who has already been struggling with zero support. Take Misa and enjoy having a great C for a team that desperately needs it.

With EDM/Allan and or some other players who may surprise us at the bottom is already a workable top 4. Nothing stopping the team from signing someone like Ekblad as well this FA period.

I would think this obvious but apparently not, there is no immediate offensive help coming for Bedard through the draft this year. Misa, Hagens, Martone… whoever will need time to develop and there is a very good chance none of them play in the NHL. You take best BPA and acquire offensive help in FA, if Marner or Rantanen are available then Davidson can’t miss.

Expecting you can get an immediate difference maker in a Jones trade is a pipe dream.
