I think a deal can happen with Dallas, Colorado, or FloridaHey Seth, if you wanna go somewhere else and give yourself a chance to win, maybe open up that NMC to more than just one or two playoff caliber teams. If you start getting picky, with your contract, you'll never leave. Give us 5-10 teams you'd be open to moving to and let's get this process rolling.
We will eventuallyNot sure what to think about this. If he’s traded for nothing (what the main boards thinks we will get for no retention) we get the cap space (that we really don’t need) and have a gigantic hole on the right side.
If you can retain $2 million and get a first in 2026 that’s more interesting but is a first round pick really worth $10 million??
From what I can tell, the media tends to blow whatever way the organization does in Chicago, they all seem interconnected with each other. When the media finally turned on Jones, I knew it was over.Reading the tea leaves, I think this started weeks ago just as we speculated back then, when his uptick in performance also happened.
This is from his camp right, trying maybe to put pressure on the Hawks to get something done?
Good. I don't want to watch this guy any one second longer. The sooner he's gone the better. Plays when he feels like it, demanding stuff.
Colorado, Dallas, Florida, Carolina. There are options for sure.
Jiricek basically being turned into a late 1st definitely makes that trade age a lot better nowRevisiting the trade back in 2021 and that doesn´t look so bad anymore. Main pieces Columbus got was Boqvist, Sillinger and Jiricek. Only Sillinger is left there.
It is interesting to see what Davidson can get from Jones this time. Probably not much but something useful maybe? It is going to be only matter of time that Jones is traded. If it ain´t before tdl it will be at the summer.
Given that the report also said that Seth Jones has not requested a trade and the Blackhawks don't necessarily want to trade him, I would be surprised if he gets traded before the season is over.
I'd be surprised if Jones gets traded in the offseason too. If a trade were to happen, I see it being 2-3 years from now when the Hawks could need cap space and Jones only has 2-3 years left on the deal instead of 5.A few weeks ago I'd have agreed 100% with you, but at this point I think there is too much smoke for there not to be something.
Especially if you're a team like Dallas, Vegas or Florida and your window is this season and who knows how many more. Why wait until the off season? Even more so if you're Dallas and Vegas and want to take advantage of the LTIR space from Heiskanen and Theodore.
No guarantee they get something done in season, but I think it is absolutely possible. 15 days to get it done!
That "gigantic hole" has been pretty easy to fill when he's out of the lineup. Not sure what to think about this. If he’s traded for nothing (what the main boards thinks we will get for no retention) we get the cap space (that we really don’t need) and have a gigantic hole on the right side.

lol it will always be bad, regardless of what the players turned in to.Revisiting the trade back in 2021 and that doesn´t look so bad anymore. Main pieces Columbus got was Boqvist, Sillinger and Jiricek. Only Sillinger is left there.

Cooley was gone when Jiricek was selected, so how is that even an option? Not defending the trade, as I didn't like it at the time, even if I did understand what Stan was thinking. It was a typical bad short sighted deal a GM makes when he's on the hot-seat. With that said - coming up with some crazy hypothetical of what they could have done instead using the benefit of 20/20 hindsight is a fools errand IMO. You could do this with just about every major deal ever made and come up with a better outcome.lol it will always be bad, regardless of what the players turned in to.
Could have had a much worse team than we were that season if Stan didn't get him and Fleury, so the Jiricek pick could have been Cooley instead. They could have picked Coronato, instead of Sillinger, could have had an extra 10mil space for the last 3 years, could have traded Boqvist for something better. Hell, could have used all of those assets to bring in someone actually worth a damn, or for different prospects.
It will always be a bad trade, no matter what the assets turned into. I would still rather have Sillinger, the draft picks they got for Jiricek, and the 9.5mil in cap space than Jones.
