Ayurveda is just a natural, holistic approach to managing health/conditions and has been used for decades.

He might be “cooked” from hockey, but don’t be a hater just because Toews found something that works for him that you have no knowledge about it.
Seriously.

He’s much more than a hockey player. At the end of the day he’s human like the rest of us. Sounds like he’s happy where he’s at. He’s won.

So, it seems he’s either donezo, or will return as the new Sorcerer Supreme.

His Insta post before this is his Burning Man photodump. This is not an arc I saw coming but I'm kinda stoked about it. I hope he starts posting about the positive effects of MDMA and LSD usage soon.

He’s already talked to Chris Johnston about the benefits of mind altering substances. Back in 2016/2017ish

Wouldn't be so quick to write it off. Yoga and meditation, also from India, have shown to have real health benefits. Ayurveda has survived for thousands of years for a reason, there's some wisdom in ancient knowledge.
100%.

Ayurveda is also suggestive of lifestyle changes. Eating well, sleeping/recovering well, exercising well, managing mental health, simplifying life to mitigate stressors.

While some research shows benefit to psychedelics (it seems to be trending in a positive direction as long as it’s not abused), all of us 100% know the benefit of the bolded.

Eating well, exercise, sleep, aren’t exactly concepts foreign to western medicine.

microdosing shrooms would help him more than whatever pseudoscience he's doing in India

It seems like part of his journey is mental healing as well. “Pseudoscience” or not, if it helps him emotionally and mentally be in a better place, then it works.

Not the same thing really but I started meditating twice a day for 10-15 minutes per session about 2-3 year ago and I have had easily the most productive years of my life and meditation is absolutely the catalyst. I recommend anybody who has a busy mind gives it a try, but you can't do it for a week and give up.

If he feels this is working for him, good for him.

I was hoping him and Kane would stay and retire as Blackhawks eventually, even if in the interim they take a diminished role and help mentor Bedard. Even if the Hawks didn't get Bedard, there is something to be said about someone who has been there, who has won, who has leadership experience, showing younger players the ropes and helping them with their game. Same thing with Stamkos in TB. Maybe for Toews and Kane it was a money and cap issue, but with Toews especially I have never seen him as much of a showy type of guy - just quietly minds his business and gets things done. I think his playing days are done, but I would love for the Hawks to bring him into hockey ops in some capacity. I think he still has lots to offer, even if it may not be big minutes on the ice.

Last I've read the science behind any benefits of microdosing psychedelics is murky at best so I don't know that it's any less of a pseudoscience at this point.

And there's scientific to back up the benefits of meditation.

Some people still think of it as sitting cross legged on a rug with incense burning and repeating "ohmmmm" but that's not really what meditation is.

No because that's not what happened and that's not what I'm referring to.
If you know so much about what happened what are you asking about and blasting Toews for ?
You asked....I gave you my thought. Sorry if I got it wrong Teach

Honestly, the man deserves his happiness and then some. He got his 3 cups as the teams captain, bunch of gold medals for his country, and lifetimes worth of money in the bank to go with it. He achieved everything a young hockey kid dreams about, now its time to live the rest of life, and get healthy doing so.

Now all Buff needs to do is fly over to India and they can build an epic river raft for fishing :thumbu:
