After the debate of who is better between Quick and Bernier after Quick came out slow this season and Bernier came out hot for the Leafs, you never can tell.
Oh, and watch who you call a clown. :)

Did he also insinuate that Dean didn't get the best package available for Bernier? Hard to keep track as so many people believe that.

He didn't if in fact Read was a real offer.

You're a clown and a bum!

I know this is a Quick discussion, but I have to throw in his partner in crime Kopi.

It has been an absolute joy to watch Quick and Kopitar grow into the franchise players they are today. We have been through alot of tough years, playoff disappointments, draft busts etc. It's very nice to have two amazing talents who also happen to be great teammates and model citizens.

It's also rewarding in that these two guys helped salvage Dave Taylor's legacy. Taylor was not a good executive but he dedicated much of his life to this franchise and it's nice kharma that in his final draft as Kings GM he was able to draft two franchise players that were the two biggest pieces in finally bringing a cup to LA.

Hopefully Kopi is re-signed after next season and is an LA King for life and #11 and #32 will be retired, they deserve it and so do we

Amen. Quick, Kopitar, and Doughty. These guys scream Kings for life. It's been great to watch them grow into the all-around elite players they are. And nice point about DT; I'm sure it stings a bit to see his draft strategy pretty much such except for his last draft, but what a lasting legacy for a guy who embodied Kings hockey for so long.

Back to Quickie one last time--I just love his battling style. I know it drives CNS and the other "efficient" butterfly goalie fans bonkers, but guys like him are so unique it's a treat to watch.

When cns gets a ring, he can critique Quick.

I'd like to hear these fixes Quick has to make. I've heard about these technically sound goalies who play a perfect butterfly who tend to get beat high more often than Quick does.

The way he hugs the post, first and foremost, is the most asinine and terrible technique ever. You go one pad up, hugging the post, arm wrapped around the post. That means there's ZERO ****ing hole. He gets beat from low angle shots more than any goalie in the league. Why the league started trending towards that technique makes no sense.

Plus, he simply has to clean up playing the puck. You don't have to be good, just don't be bad.

There are other things that I would personally do different but what he does for the most part fits his style. Wish every NHL goalie realized they had a stick in their ****ing hand. So many get beat 5 hole and their stick simply isn't covering it.

I'm not knocking Quick. These are critiques of things that he could change to be the #1 by a country mile over Lundqvist, not just by a bit like he is now.

Guy is the best goalie in the world. Guys that complain about his game are the same guys that complain about Gretzky's game cause he don't check players.

Absolutely and utterly wrong and the fact you can't differentiate between tweaks to ones game versus completely changing anothers is unreal. My gosh man...

We still should have traded for Miller...

And have two starters like we did when we had Quick and Bernier?

And where, pray tell, are we supposed to get the cash to pay for both of them, given our cap space?

Not sure if you are joking or are serious. If serious, please answer my two questions; thanks in advance.

I remember one game where Gretzky threw a perfect check on a big guy into the boards and Jim Fox laughed and called him "Wayne Gretzky, power forward!" :)

I'm sure that was sarcasm.

Quick plays the puck fine, but when he ****s up he really ****s up. I love the guy, he is ****ing awesome and a great goalie to have.

Don't know why we have a thread on goaltenders. Goalies are overrated and are just lazy people that wanted to play hockey and didn't want to bust their butts skating.

....

:sarcasm:

Edit... wait or did I want ? Can't figure this out:cry:

If we can't talk about goaltending like grownups, this is gonna be a short thread.

I thought you guys were going to tank this thread about page 2. Kudos for letting it run as long as it has, but it really has run its course. Too much sniping between posters.

It's too bad. I thought the one thing we all believed in for sure on this team was Quick. But even he appears to be vulnerable to Kings' fan cynicism.

Again, people on this site can't read and take me criticizing the holes in Quick's game as not believing in him. Reading. Hard.
