You trade Hoffman for futures(cap space) not Hubs.
So the Panthers give up Huberdeau, Matheson, Henrik Borgstrom, Derick Brassard, and their 2019 first round pick for two guys who will be UFA's in a few months?Make it a 3way
Habs
Jonathan Huberdeau
Markus Nutivaara
Michael Matheson
CBJ
Andrew Shaw
Ryan Poehling
Habs 1st 2019
CBJ 2nd 2019
Florida 1st 2019
Derick Brassard
Henrik Borgström
FLA
Sergei Brobovski
Atermi Panarin
i'vs added juulsen to FLA but you know that both Panarin and the Brob are extended from that POV !So the Panthers give up Huberdeau, Matheson, Henrik Borgstrom, Derick Brassard, and their 2019 first round pick for two guys who will be UFA's in a few months?
That's it. We have the worst proposal of all time.
Would Columbus even have that much leverage? Them landing Huberdeau for 2 players that have already admitted they are leaving seems like a reach.
Is Columbus retaining 50% of each player's salary because even with the add, you still have the worst proposal I have ever seen.i'vs added juulsen to FLA but you know that both Panarin and the Brob are extended from that POV !
How often does he play wing vs centre? Is he stronger/better at wing or centre?
He is a winger and he is good at it.
70 point player if healthy.
I think it depends , huberdeau has wayyyyy more value than hoffman so trading him could actually get you a good dman. If it's just for capspace sure just trade Hoffman for picksYou trade Hoffman for futures(cap space) not Hubs.
Huberdeau? The guy has never played center since like what, 16 years old? He’s a LWHow often does he play wing vs centre? Is he stronger/better at wing or centre?
I’m thinking Florida has silent negotiations - with Jarmo’s blessing first - to get an extension figured out for both before pulling the trigger.
To CBJ: Huberdeau, Reimer (cap/roster purposes)
To FLA: Panarin (8 years, 72 million, 9 per), Bobrovsky (8 years, 54 million, 6.75 per)
I’m not sure it’s a good idea for Florida, but it does improve their team going forward (just not sure the improvement is worth the cost/cap hit).
What would Fla even be looking for. I mean the entire premise is to free up cap space, you likely look for someone to take on Reimer and get little salary back, so futures and prospects???
Meh, not the type of player we need. We're set on the wings, we need a LD.
He would be leading the habs in scoring but they dont need him. Ok got it.Meh, not the type of player we need. We're set on the wings, we need a LD.
Cap space for Panarin and Bobrovsky. Might have to move out money. Why would they trade him for futures if they're trying to get better?
That would actually would make a lot more sense. Panthers could use a top 4 d-man who can play strong defensively and the Canes are looking for more forwards. Plus the Panthers want to cut salary if they are signing both Bob & Panarin and the swap of Hamilton and Huberdeau doesnt do that, Pesce does. I dont think they do that unless they already have a deal with the Jackets for Panarin & Bob though and have negotiated the terms to a deal with Panarin at least. Not giving up Huby for Hamilton not what we need. Rather go for Pesce if we are trading with Carolina.
