Will be paid in shares rather than money, meaning that his financial return depends on Liiga promotion.

His Finnish has suffered a bit from being abroad, sounds a lot like me speaking Finnish, not wrong in any way.. But a bit meager.

Guy could probably still play on a fourth line in the NHL or dominate the AHL. In Mestis I expect him to be top-5 in scoring.

He was awful back in Detroit, and that was several years ago. Luckily Mestis is not the NHL so that losing three steps shouldn't matter much.
With the eye test he didn't look much worse than on the Islanders where he was a pleasant surprise. Most everyone on the wings were awful.

Still the Detroit Free Press chose him as one of the three most disappointing players even out of that lousy team. No one else in the league had been below -40 while scoring less than 25 points since 1994. Other than money-wise it would have been better for him to go to Europe already in 2019.

Jimi Jalonen's father coached the team in the KHL. Santeri Haakana's played in SM-Liiga and coached junior teams. Emil Kuusla's played for Jokerit in juniors together with Selänne & co.
