Rupp sounds like a dope. “Tortorella would never quit on his team…..he coaches to win.” Could’ve fooled us.

Friedman mentioned Laughton being a turning point (obviously, the difference maker between playoffs and no playoffs). Again, we’ve said for years that Tortorella doesn’t care about a Cup. He cares about sustaining his image as a guy who gets middling teams to maybe squeak in, so he can get the praise. At no point was he in it for long term goals.

Rupp says Tortorella would never quit on his team & following that statement Friedman paints a picture with some soft wording of Tortorella indeed quitting on his team.
