Interesting guy
Played his youth hockey for The Winnetka Warriors outside Chicago - where I also played almost all my youth hockey before moving to Sweden (and IFK Tumba/Huddinge IF). Went to our rival High School New Trier East (I played in Evanston)
Hope he does real good. We have many mutual acquintances

I hope he can play RD, if so he is going to get a chance to be in the top 4

Will he get PP time?

for some reason he reminds me of Tom Poti. he is only 22 so i hope im wrong.. he seems to a big guy that isnt good defensively at all but doesnt put up alot of points.. 24 pts in 73 games in AHL isnt that good for an offensive dman.. i do love this trade....

Must be exciting for him to come in here and get a chance on a big stage. We now have retained some of our homegrown guys, our face of franchise with Henrik and Cally, some of CBJ's homegrown core, and their former face of franchise. The New York Blue Jackets are complete.

INteresting to see how McI and JM all sorts out. We have more JAMable names guys.

I swear to God if Dan "shot goes wide" Girardi is given prime PP minutes ahead of Moore and Stralman I will..... I don't even know but I'll do something.

He's gotten so good at shooting wide that he can feed Hagelin and McDonagh by shooting wide.

Didn't a bunch of people want Moore as the pick in '09? Seems like all of those posters have vanished today. Would have liked the 1st rounder back but am ok with the deal.

Yes,you are correct. I liked Moore a lot and am very glad he was acquired. I was never keen on Erixon. Like JM more

he has so much potential. easily my favorite player to watch tonight. counters 2 solid checks(leaving the checker on their ass), sound defensive game, and a decent shot early on. happy to see him join the team. liked him on columbus as well

he looked a bit like staal tonight. smooth and defensive-minded. (even though he scored a goal :)

Yeah, some people liked him, and for good reason. Good size, great skater. I think Columbus rushed him a bit but he looked good.

Big kid who can skate and seems to have a good head on his shoulders...REALLY solid pick-up and an infinite upgrade over Hamerlik.

Looked VERY confident out there in his 15 minutes of ice time. I was not expecting him to look that calm.

He could be a very good one of this team...

He was raw when he was drafted and was in a terrible situation up until this season. Glad he is part of this organization.

This team obviously stresses size and skating when looking at young players. Moore is another one.

He looked OK. He was playing it safe which isn't a bad thing. The positive...he sure as hell looked a lot better than Hamrlik. When he and Eminger were out there it didn't look so much like a train wreck like it did with Hamrlik-Eminger.

Think he did just fine considering he's a 22 year old who had to be at least a little nervous playing his first game at MSG as a Ranger against the league leading offense of the penguins.

he was solid... he has some potential. i think like Brassard they were rushed to the NHL like Malhotra was when he was here... a change can do wonders. look at Voracek for the Flyers. another former Bluejacket.. hmm maybe it will happen here :yo:

He gave us something like 16 minutes of good defense tonight and even scored a goal. When Staal gets back, this guy is a damn good #6 (right now).

Long term, my feeling is this will be the best piece out of the whole deal. I think he will be a top 4 d-man in this league for a long time once he gets to that point. He's not quite there yet, but he's good for what he is now. Been a bit of a struggle this year with some small, nagging injuries hampering his development. This lead to him getting passed a little bit in the depth chart.

When I see John Moore in the future, I see an American version of what Tyutin has developed into for Columbus.

That's the most important thing for me right now. I feel like it's too early to judge him (after all, everyone looked great tonight) but we do have a good recent history of developing D prospects. I think he'll be placed in a position to succeed. Here's hoping he does.

Looks like he dropped quiet a bit in the draft. Most guys had him as the #5 ranked defenseman, behind just Hedman, OEL, Cowen, and Ellis.
Ahead of Rundblad, Kulikov, and Erixon
