Ugh hopefully he's back for the playoffs if they make it

Diaz pickup a good move now. Hopefully he helps
I'm hoping Diaz can pick up the left side seamlessly and John Moore comes back as the 7th. I think Diaz > Moore.

Agreed. I don't understand the people who are upset with Moore. This could potentially be a blessing in disguise.

Diaz is a better player then Moore at the moment. Moore has been very underwhelming in my opinion. He has a chance to be a good player and I think he will be, but he's not quite there yet.

If he didn't have to go through waivers, I'd have sent him down this year to play in the A.

Moore's progressively gotten better since being paired with Klein. Not sure I'd say Diaz is better.

Diaz is quite easily better. Not necessarily down the line, but right now, certainly. He should have been in the lineup since he got here. It's a shame that he hasn't played in a while.

Guy is as good as he showed tonight. He's very steady. Tonight was not an anomaly.

He's a much better passer for sure.

That sucks.

Not great, but with Klein, they made up a very reliable and capable 3rd pair.

Kept the game simple and made good choices when to push the play.

Liked what I saw from Diaz playing the left side.

Diaz didn't play the left side.

After watching him for one game, you can proclaim Diaz better than Moore? Last night, Diaz was more effective than Moore has been in awhile. But Moore jumps in the play, is an excellent skater, and is young enough to develop into a solid second pairing defenseman. I wouldn't write him off yet.

That being said, Diaz was a good pickup. I wish Moore a speedy recovery, concussions are the worst.

anyone have a link to the video?

i wasn't able to see it because i was at work, but i heard it was a questionable hit. shoulda been a charge.

I feel like the charge is not being called anymore. The league is happy with the big hits, cuz they get on espn. Despite the fact that skating fifty feet at full speed to hit someone is only going to...drum roll...cause concussions. (oh, and has no real 'hockey' value).
And here we are. The 'upper body injury' league.

Diaz was a good pickup. He had a good game. He is no real threat however to ever break into a good team's top four--and this 'quite easily better' remark of yours after only one game strikes me as either biased or premature. Should take some time at least to get a better picture of just how he fits. Diaz was never anywhere near breaking into Montreal's top 4 and he couldn't do it in Vancouver. Moore should be able to do it some day but it's not likely to be with the Rangers if Staal sticks around.

Anyway whatever problems that the Moore-Del Zotto tandem was having defending in their own end pretty much disappeared when Klein replaced Del Zotto. Since then Moore has been a lot more solid in his own end and much more noticeable attacking the other end--though his insertion back into the pwp mix in the last month or so has not done a lot for that.

It makes me wonder if Klein was here earlier if we wouldn't have a bit of a cushion. The first 10 games probably happen regardless but maybe early December doesn't happen. For a while that pairing was a train wreck.

Chemistry is such a big deal in sports. Del Zotto is probably more talented than so many. But having a guy that fits...so key. Klein has been a perfect fit. Ive been so happy with his addition. It also is a feather in Slats' cap, id say.

Klein is more than capable of being a top 4 guy. He's an anchor defensively. Absolutely trustworthy. Not huge but wiry strong, excellent positionally and calm under pressure. We haven't had a guy as good as him on our bottom pairing going back into the mid 90's. A player with some offensive skill like Moore or Diaz or even Del Zotto will look a lot better playing with him. As for Stralman I like him a lot and still would not mind the Rangers re-signing him. Feel absolutely comfortable on the right side with Girardi, Stralman, Klein. McIlrath looks like he might need another half season/whole season in the AHL anyway.

Why does a player have to be in the top 4 to be considered to crack a teams top 6? I've watched Diaz over his career in Montreal. I know the game he plays. Why do you think I'm judging him off of one single game? Guess what, I'm not.

Diaz is a better player then Moore. Everyone seemed to be shocked last night when he played well, I wasn't, I expected it. In fact, I was furious that it took an injury to Moore for Diaz to even get playing time when he is clearly the better player right now.

Moore may have future top-4 potential. I don't think he ever puts that together, but to each there own. It is true, Moore's ceiling is higher, since Diaz is older. But Diaz is a fantastic #5/6 right now. He's very steady. I know he'll never be a true #4, but I'm not asking him to be. In my opinion, for most of the year, Moore has not played well. He's settled in since Klein got here, but is still not anything special. Diaz is the better player. I have no doubt and that comes from watching him over the course of the past few seasons, not one Ranger game. Which again, was not some sort of anomaly. That is the type of player he is.

Also, if you think I'm lying and still don't know anything about Diaz, go over to the Habs board and ask their fans what they think of him. They'll tell you exactly the same thing I'm saying. The guy is a legit bottom pairing guy. He sure as hell isn't a #7
