Either a 1st or 2nd and decent prospect for him at 50% retained.

Boston and Carolina are the two teams that make sense to me.

I see him in a Bruin jersey. But the ducks do very poorly with trades with the Bruins so I doubt they will get a 1st for him even with 50% retained plus taking a dump contract like Nosek/Zacha. Likely a late 2nd round pick + non-bluechip prospect like Beecher.

He was traded at the deadline not before 25% of the season
While I agree those aren't Apple to apples there is 0 precedent that a 1 year contract being traded is cap circumvention. If he was traded before the season that would be something else.

as of now he’s not getting a 1st when other teams could have signed him. The league might investigate cap circumvention if he’s traded around now With retention. A deal near the deadline wouldn’t be looked into.
What are you talking about? The league investigating cap circumvention if the Ducks trade him now? That's preposterous.

false

him signing a high contract then is traded at 50% to team X will get investigated for circumvention unless it’s near the deadline.

any deal anyone signs fall into this.
I don’t understand how you’re coming to that conclusion when players are signed every year as free agents and traded away during the season. It’s especially not unique to bottom dweller teams.

Would Nashville make sense? They seem kind of shallow on RHD, and their 2nd PP unit can use a better QB.
No idea what pieces would go back to Anaheim though.

How about we wait another 2 months? He can’t be traded until after new years anyways.

His value is forsure at at the bottom right now but he has been better lately. He had his best game of the season the other night.

Boston is the best destination for Klingberg. Their system is so strong that Klingberg's 1st percentile defense can be compensated by Boston's great system and commitment to team defense. Play him in premium scoring situtations like with the top line, and on the PP. Hide his brutal defending by spotting him against the opponent's 3rd and 4th line.

Did his agent ever screw up by turning down a long term deal, no wonder JK fired him. I'd like to know what team threw a bag of money at a defenseman that can't defend at all.
