Management John Hynes

I don’t mind BG taking a shot at Nyquist. A 2nd rounder isn’t all that much and he was one of the few guys we could fit in. A shooter shoots; a loser doesn’t admit his shot was bad though.

Losing game 1 winning the best two, and losing in 6 three straight times is honestly funny
They are gonna name that series game by game result after the wild , seems like that’s all they know how to do. We get outcoached and fail to make meaningful changes every single f***ing playoffs

Hynes probably starts the 25-26 season still in charge, but all bets are off after that.

Guerin has to have a good summer(sign Kap, sign a good FA and/or make significant trades), or his seat gets very hot. It will be his 7th season in charge, and his team hasn't won a single bloody series. He talks a good game, but doesn't deliver.

Leipold makes money, and continues to fill the arena - he says he wants to win, but he doesn't need to win. He's comfortable... a country club owner.

Losing money works for him too.

Anyhow, hard not to feel that Boudreau or Evason would have done more with this roster and opportunity. I'm sure Buium will say the right things about watching this series from the bench but every fan knows the team would have been better off with him in there this game.

I'm not sure that Buium would make a difference in this series, but I sure as hell know that the future at LD is not Jon Merrill. Getting Buium(and Ohgren) some reps now to help them develop for the future made a lot of sense to me, but Hynes made the choice of Nyquist/Brazeau and Merrill, players who have no future with the team.

It's maybe not the reason they lost this series, but it does speak to a mindset of a coach that plays not to lose rather than to take a chance in order to win. I mean, how's it working?

How long was the Hynes contract?
Too long, maybe? But for real, when he was hired there was not too many other options. It was on the fly. I think that ship has sailed, not too many really good coaches on the market right now. What's the dream hire right now in your opinion?
I have no clue to be honest.

I had the Golden Dildo’s winning in 5 not 6.
Vegas is a better team. In the end Eichel and Stone were better than Kaprizov and Boldy.
Hartman, Foligno, Trenin, Spurgeon, Faber, played above their pay grade.
This team will be won’t finish any higher next year. Winnipeg, Dallas, Colorado, and maybe St. Louis will be better in our division.
No coach is going to turn that around.
To me fire the f***ing cheesedick owner who approved 13 year contracts for Parise and Suter.

I know coaching can make or break some things but at the same time does our coaching get a whole lot better if we had a legit 2nd line? Look at Paul Marice, all those years coaching and nothing, lands in Florida with a very good and deep team and two cup finals with 1 cup win and maybe another in the works.

Not that I wouldn't mind someone else or Carle but I feel like we need something bad to happen to get a new coach and we might not be bad enough for that to happen.

Eichel and stone were better in 1 game, of course that was game 6 but other then those two goals they were pretty blah and had to be carried by the rest of their team.

Maurice had Cup Finals loss, 2 Conf Finals losses, and a 2nd round loss before he was in FL. All this in the same time frame the Wild have been a team.

He has also been around forever and missed the playoffs more then he has made the playoffs.

He did more in the Playoffs when he made it than MN has in their existence. 1 Cup win, 2 Cup losses, 2 Con Finals losses, a 2nd round loss, plus whatever this year brings. If the Wild had that type of Playoff success the fans here would be over the moon.

And we have some 2nd round losses and a conference final loss, point being he didn't win until he had a great team to coach, something we all know we don't have yet, but we complain like we deserved something better. We finally looked decent in the playoffs and have help on the way and all everyone can talk about is blowing up the team and firing everything. I'm thinking we need to be a tad realistic here.

So the point of Maurice missing the Playoffs so many years when he had bad teams is moot then? Since the ties went away, he's only coached 2 100+ point seasons. Just from comparison, Evason had 2.5 100p seasons (75p in 56g COVID season is the .5) and BB had 2 x 100p+ seasons while in MN.

In 25 years MN has had a total 4 series wins. Maurice has been in the Cup finals as many seasons an MN has won a Playoff series.

Friggin Buffalo has only made the Playoffs 5 times (14 straight years missing the Playoffs) since the Wild have been a team and still have won more Playoff series.
