There were a lot of negative comments about this guy when the Wild hired him.

Well, there have been multiple times this season where I wrote the Wild off despite their great start. I've seen it happen before.

Now with no Kaprizov, and back to back shutouts in Ottawa and Boston, I thought that was it.

But no, back to back wins vs. Carolina and NYI. I don't remember this level of resilience in a good while, maybe since Lemaire.

Coach doing a good job, and with not the greatest roster!

He's had tidbits of success briefly everywhere he's gone, I think his inability to be successful for more than a season or two is why he's known as a bad coach. And his playoff record is abysmal.

I think he is a good coach, missing his best player, Kaprizov. Team came back from a 3-1 deficit last night to win 6-3- players play for him. Overall, the team plays a sound game, to the best of their abilities. That's the mark of a good coach.

MN has historically been really bad in the post season, so it will be hard to know who to blame if they flame out again. If they win even one series then Hynes will get a lot of credit.

The only major mark against Hynes for me is the MN teams weakness on special teams. I feel that is within the purview of the coach, especially the PK, to be at least competent there. He has failed in that, miserably.

Wild fanbase has plenty of words to say about Hynes.

Half the Wild fanbase thinks he hates Rossi, despite Rossi playing more even strength minutes per game than any other Wild center (full minute more than Eriksson Ek).

Half the Wild fanbase thinks it’s bs that Boldy and Zucc never get a trip down the lineup when things go wrong (guess we want Johansson/Foligno on the top line?.

Half the fanbase hates that he doesn’t keep the lines cemented together.

Half the fanbase thinks it is fantastic that he shuffles the lines after Dean running stagnant lines for forever.

The whole fanbase is pissed at the penalty kill. Remains an issue through the coaching change.

Most enjoy that Hynes doesn’t lose his shit at every little thing that doesn’t go his team’s way (like Dean did).

The team seems resilient because of Hynes and his willingness to make changes before things get out of hand.

He wasn't my favorite coach in NJ, I was calling for him to be fired a couple years before he was.

I was surprised he got another job so quickly after the Predators.

But he seems to have turned it around for the Wild.
