Really not a fan of taking Beecher when Kaliyev was still on the board.
31 spots and kaliyev was passed on every single time. That's not a red flag to you? I wanted him but Beecher was a solid pick.

DeBrincat got passed 38 times and just scored 40 goals.
DeBrincat got passed because of size concerns. This kid has NHL size so why was he passed on?
Hard to say without knowing them personally. He has questions, he also has some talent.
in fairness Kucherov was a 2nd rounder too.31 spots and kaliyev was passed on every single time. That's not a red flag to you? I wanted him but Beecher was a solid pick.

Reasonable arguments if some team would have picked him in the first round. But every single team passed on him. Some times red flags are just a caution.
If I remember correctly, this team passed on some players because of red flags, and some of those guys are distinguished NHLers now.
It goes the other way, too.
My gut says, this is the guy the Bruins wanted to and they grabbed him when they could. Hopefully it pays off.
Or every single team had a guy they wanted ahead of him. It's how players fall.Reasonable arguments if some team would have picked him in the first round. But every single team passed on him.

And Chicago still missed the playoffs and the champs/bruins proved the 3rd/4th line dudes matter big time.
Team matters. Chicago is a significantly worse team than Boston.

What gives me pause is that we're projecting him based on what he might've done as a go-to guy and comparing that to other players in his class who actually were. They've been burned recently for doing that.
I follow this guy a bit - does a draft guide and podcast -his opinion I respect. He’s liked him all along
Sounds like another Chris Krieder and that’s pretty promising
