Roger Johansson I’ve realized was a profile later on of course, but I can’t say much more about him. I’ve thought I should go back and watch some 1996 World Cup games though. I listened to a podcast that focused much on the nailbiter against Canada, where the hosts talked about Forsberg losing his fate in linemate Daniel Alfredsson ever converting one of his many chances, and began trying to do it all himself. Probably a fun game to rewatch.

Which harkens back to the topic of this thread, because Garpenlöv famously hit the post in that game, I think in OT. He also hit the post I think in the 94 ECFs Game 7 against the Leafs?

But yes, you're correct that Forsberg was styling on everyone that game, but I guess Alfredsson wasn't "Alfie" yet, and Garpenlöv was just Garpenlöv.

As for Johansson, he only dressed for 3 games that tourney so he was probably just a 7th D or something.

Perhaps if Hammarby had better players and didn't suck at hockey I could have cheered for them more. I think the only notable players to come out of that team are Kristian Huselius and Nisse Ekman, plus one free-lance season by Mariusz Czerkawski sandwiched in-between two seasons with Djurgården (so not a Hammarby product).

Another guy who apparently is a Hammarby product is Gabriel Landeskog, but this doesn't show up if you look at any of his stat pages, so he must have left the org in his early teens. But his dad, Tony Landeskog, was a stay-at-home-ish D with the team in the 1970s/1980s.
