Not saying the Blues are necessarily going to trade him this offseason, but I imagine either Hofer or Binnington will be traded within the next four years. I cannot imagine Hofer will want to stay as a backup till he is thirty. I'm curious what people would be willing to offer, specifically fans of teams desperate for a goalie like Edmonton. The goalie market is notoriously a buyer's market.

Hofer's stats:
23-24: 27 games started, 15 wins, 12 losses, 1 OTL. .914
24-25: 28 games started, 16 wins, 8 losses, 3 OTL. .904

He is 24 years old and is an RFA this offseason.

From what ive heard people close to Hofer think he's going to get a contract similar to Woll, and St. Louis will look to trade Binnington. But this was a few months ago, another Binnington playoff run could change that.

I have no doubt in my mind the Blues keep Hofer, its just a matter of how long do they keep Binnington and when do they want to hand the reigns over to Hofer

St. Louis should just stick with what works.

Army has retooled a good team with an influx of young forwards and make a screwed move of hiring a top caliber NHL coach in Jim Montgomery on the fly.

Faska is the only major UFA and he could be replaced by another young talent next season while saving salary for Hofer.

Binnington will be 34 when he hits UFA in 2 years.

They are probably not going to let Hofer leave when Binnington’s contract is up. I presume that he’ll likely get more of the workload in 2 years and transition full time as the starter in 2026-2027.

I think a Woll contract makes sense. I think we eventually make a move and we'll keep 2 of Binnington, Hofer, and Ellis, but it can wait a bit and doesn't have to be this summer.

Hoping for a 2 year deal under 3 mill.

Leaves us plenty of potential money to go after a short term 2C in UFA , while we patiently allow Dvorsky to develop.

If we move Texier and Joseph that’d open up another 5+ mill let alone if we move on from leddys 4 mill

I don't see why Blues would move Hofer at this point unless he was part of a package for an upgrade in a position of need. Ellis just signed another 2 year 2 way deal so there isn't really a rush. Binnington isn't going anywhere anytime soon so unless Hofer decides he wants to try to be a starter somewhere else really no incentive to move him, even though Hofer doesn't really have any leverage to make that happen anyway.

He's already a HOFer?
