My guess would be no. I can't possibly imagine that the head trainer would have any kind of impact on that.
Then why did the Habs fire two trainers if they have such limited impact? The new guy holds a senior position.

I know the feelings here ,bad back, but disappointed over the return 😔

It was either take the best offer now or take away ice time from a young guy in the hopes he can stay healthy and also get his game back by the TDL.

When Hughes started the rebuild, I was hoping to get 1sts for all the vet D's, Chiarot, Petry, Eddy, and Savard. So for sure it's too bad we didn't get one for Eddy, who I always though was better, steadier, than Chiarot. But the injuries have Benn frequent and his play hasn't been good.

Maybe the players didn't like them?

If the training staff had a significant impact on player availability then they'd be paid just was much as head coaches.

I thought Edmundson was going to fetch a 1st round pick? :sarcasm:
I always thought he was steadier on the back end than Chiarot, a real rock.

Injuries decreased his value and Hughes didn't have time to wait for it to maybe get back up, given the 5 rookies from last year that need ice time.

Possible but he was not trending as well as Chiarot did and he got injured. Just because Savard and Chiarot returned a 1st, it don't mean every physical stay at home type will. Those returns are usually very circumstantial.

I expected more than a 3rd with 50% retention but GM's are clearly not playing nice by taking on contracts this summer. I was thinking a 2nd and 3rd but I get it. He has not been 100% for a while now and he didn't really have a good season last year at all.

Edmunson during the run was steadier then Chariot, I will be one of the ones that said if Chariot got a 1st so should eddy. With that said, eddy just fell apart and unfortunately, he never really recovered. We we're caught in a rock and a hard place because even now our D going into camp is

xhekaj, Guhle, Barron, Harris, Savard, Kovacevic matheson and Wideman

Wideman is for sure Press box material and Kovacevic is the oldest but the 4 rookies likely feel like they belong in the show and taking a step back isn't likely to be good for there development

Yeah, on top of the contract, his health issues really lowered his value. I don't think he plays a full season next year, and don't even think he has much time left playing hockey. Teams know this. Back issues are truly the worst.

I'll be paying attention because I am a fan of his game when healthy. He was just not trending well and I have no idea how healthy he is today.

Tell me about back pain eh.... I'm 43 and played golf 3 days in a row and I feel cripple today lol.
