For the right price sure bring him back, 2 years top. He's a beast when he feels like it, can't deny that. Who knows how long it will last tho.

Out of the Bergevin leftovers Evans and him are the ones who could be worth keeping depending on what they'll be asking for.
1 year deals for him. He floated for most of the 4 year gift Bergevin gave him. He owes us. Maybe he’ll be more motivated if every season is a contract year.

Will he be resigned at a fair price? one year 1.5M$? signing Evans at under 3 keeps the 4th line in tact allowing prospects to mature

These aren't realistic numbers for either player, 1.5M for Armia is less than Evans currently makes and represents a hefty pay cut for Armia.

1 year sounds good to me! I don't miss disinterested, floating Armia. He'll probably want more term than that tho and I sincerely hope Hughes won't fall for it.

We all know he can be a great 3rd liner. He is now.

Let's not forget how much he floated around for years before.

If a good offer comes, trade. Otherwise sign him for 1 year, 2 max.

This bum finally, after all these years, throws a few above-average games together, and people want to keep him? Hell no! Trade!
He played well last year too, after his Laval stint.

...he got his ass waived! He played slightly better afterwards when nobody claimed him. This isn't the kind of player you keep.

Armia is the 3rd / 4th line version of PLD. Now you see him now you don't. Looks good now, but was waived for a reason.

that shift when he lost his stick is the type of elite defensive effort that usually wills you into cups.
If he continues like that, sure as hell i want him back

Really happy he's doing well -- if the Habs are out of the playoff picture I sure hope some team gives a lot to acquire his services for the playoffs. If the Habs are in the playoff picture, I sure hope Joel continues this form.

Re-signing him would be contingent on a two year deal since he's not the quickest player nor is he consistent. We need everybody to pull their weight and then some for deep playoff runs. There's not point keeping a guy for his past service when you can't expect to rely on his future self for a 100game season.

You see how Gallagher has run out of steam already mid-season and he's just a year older than Armia.

No argument, he has been playing very well, recently.

It's the same every year with Armia. He's a slow starter, so people get mad at him and wants him traded. Then by mid-season he's found his game and people starts to change their tune.

It would be easier if we just collectively assumed that he's a slow starter and treat him as such. Can't give a HUGE contract to that kind of player, but also you clearly need him if you want to have success later in the season and in the playoffs.

Armia is a tough one to button down. He has the size, shot, and ability to consistently score 20 goals, but his desire level seems to be the issue. When he's on, he is a very important piece of a roster, but is the current run based on an expiring contract or because he has figured it all out at a later age? It would be cool to keep him on a short-term contract but we all know that some NHL gm would give him a 3-4 year deal if he went to FA.

I’ve been saying for almost 2 years that they should resign him.
I cannot believe that they couldn’t trade him at the deadline last year to a contender. Teams must be kicking themselves. The guy is a beast on the boards and steals pucks like it’s food for his hungry family!

You don't let a great bottom 6 line go out the door. I wanted Armia gone, but his line with Evans and Heineman is a thing of beauty. Sign Armia to 1 year deals if you can until he's pushed out by someone else.

Still need that size, puck protection and PK ability to win in the playoffs.
No team wins without a solid 4th liner.
