The value on the Savoie trade was never bad. People overrate prospects. The McLeod trade was also widely ridiculed. Feel like this is another like that. Time will tell.
Hopefully more coming.
Lw: Benson, Quinn, Zucker, malentsyn, kulichIn college he played center, in Utah he played RW.
Juicing Peterka’s rep (one way, terrible in his own zone, shot unsustainably high and played terrible away from Tage) and deflating others to prove your point is lame.Oh buddy they traded a 70 pt 23 year old forward for utahs 6th defensemen and a mid level prospect. Because he’s a rhd and his fancy stats look good against easy competition?
If you go to the Utah board, it's a lot about losing Doan. LOL! I was expecting a "break out season" for him this year.I’m not really seeing that. He’s the same age as Peterka and hasn’t stuck in the NHL for a full season. It isn’t easy to score 20 goals in the NHL, and he won’t be getting top 6 minutes. He was on pace for 11 goals last year, and 10-15 goals feels about right.
The guy isn't even an established NHL'er and they're going to pencil him in as the 2c?Lw: Benson, Quinn, Zucker, malentsyn, kulich
RW: tuch, Thompson,Greenway doan
C : Norris, McLeod, Krebs, Lafferty
I wonder if doan could be the 2c they were looking for or if more wingers are on the way out
3rd pair, that's funny. They could have solved that a million ways without moving their best trade asset for someone’s third pair guy
I don’t think his fancy stats looked that great. I think it’s more about the rare combo of traits and fact that he’s still noticeably improving at a decent clip.Oh buddy they traded a 70 pt 23 year old forward for utahs 6th defensemen and a mid level prospect. Because he’s a rhd and his fancy stats look good against easy competition?
You think Kesselring was their 6th defenseman last season? Most of the season he was their top defenseman because of injuriesOh buddy they traded a 70 pt 23 year old forward for utahs 6th defensemen and a mid level prospect. Because he’s a rhd and his fancy stats look good against easy competition?
It’s certainly bad value on paper, but it tells me Kevyn listens to his analytics guys… so there’s that.
•JJ legit hated it here, per reports and hanging with him at Mes Que. Enjoy the weak beers in Utah, bozo.
•He's one of the only guys we've ever drafted who I had circled and I really enjoyed his development. A favorite for sure.
•The value is fine to me, maybe a slight loss. JJ has a deeply flawed 200ft game but he's going to put up monster numbers on Utah.
•Kesselring has been a target of the actual league-watchers in Sabreland and if he stabilizes Power then JJ doesn't even exist in my mind.
•Doan is more than just a throw in. Has 15-20 goal grit line upside, just not sure where he fits immediately. Both he and Kesselring were on this year's USA Worlds gold team.
•Utah probably won't miss Kesselring with their D depth. We have a shakier version of that: Jack Quinn. There's a world where he bounces back and equals JJ's production from last year. Lot of pressure on him and one last top 9 chance here.
