Oilers need to fix their top 6 / secondary scoring.

So here is one option.

What would it take for the Oilers to get JJ Peterka from Buffalo??

IMO, he would be a nice fit with his fellow German, Leon Draisaitl.

Maybe something like; Arvidsson, Prospect and 2025 3rd ??
Good score

If the Sabres have any interest in moving Peterka, it would be for a similar level of talent/upside, but in a different position. Buffalo has a pretty solid C core, but not much on the wing or Right shot D. I doubt they are looking for futures.

I'm not even an Oilers fan, but I know the Oilers need to acquire a d-man and a goalie! They have lost 5 in a row!

Dumping Arviddson would cost at least a 2nd. Sabres would not want Savoie back. Oilers have nothing to offer…

From the bottom of my heart, proposals like this should result in a month ban from starting threads. You like Peterka? So do we. Why in the f*** would we trade a former 1st rounder, often playing on the top line, for.. a spare part that’s like Peterka but older and worse, an unnamed prospect, and a throwaway pick? Like, seriously, do you have an answer for that, or is it just 100% tunnel vision thinking of only what benefits you?

Sometimes my dogs leave an offer like that one and I have to double bag it.

Got a Faber level of RD prospect? JJ is more akin to Kevn Fiala than he is to a washed Arvidsson and a 2nd round pick.
Oilers got f*** all for defensive prospects

We do not have a solid Center spine... it is one of our biggest needs.
We are overflowing with wingers in our prospect system.

But as of now.. top 6 centers and top 4 RD are our biggest needs

Which is why I suggested Pinto as a starting piece for Peterka since he's a C that can play on 2nd or 3rd line well. He's not a 1C though.

1C is top priority.... if it came down to it Tage can be our 2C ..and time will tell on Kulich. I see Pinto as 3C and we already have McLeod.

Peterka for Pinto doesn't interest me at all.

Greig and Zub for Peterka and a D prospect.

I don't see anything realistically available from the Sens that is going to make me want to part with Peterka.
I am not looking for quantity in my deals but rather quality.

It is a near impossible situation what Adams has put us in.

Never underestimate the Sabres front office. I expect some bad trades to upgrade the Sabres right away at the expense of their future. This trade proposal is still horrible for Buffalo though.

I'm laughing at the number of poorly-considered or deliberately awful proposals being floated around here because of this.

People should take another look at Kevyn Adams' history of significant trades since his major tear-down and sell-off in the year of Eichel's neck. It's not long:

Savoie for McLeod
A 2nd for Malenstyn
Mittelstadt for Byram
A 2nd for Greenway

The track record is to use his perceived surplus (futures, skill) to target need, but only if need fits his age window. His biggest flaw has consistently been putting too much faith in his collection of young NHLers. It would be shocking if he started trading 22- to 26-year-olds for anything other than different 22- to 26-year-olds.

He will sell off the UFAs he isn't going to re-sign for what he can get, and he will buy real NHL players if he can for picks, prospects and/or lesser players. And he will make one-for-one deals to change the mix.

That's where he sees the franchise.

And regardless of whether you buy that or not, remember folks, you're proposing trades with Sabres hockeysfutures fans, not Kevyn Adams.

And HFboards Sabres fans have been pretty clear (as much as they dislike Adams): they aren't selling their young NHL talent off for picks or prospects, either.
