Oilers need to fix their top 6 / secondary scoring.

So here is one option.

What would it take for the Oilers to get JJ Peterka from Buffalo??

IMO, he would be a nice fit with his fellow German, Leon Draisaitl.

Maybe something like; Arvidsson, Prospect and 2025 3rd ??

Throw in Draisaitl and Ekholm, and take Benson and Dahlin

I have no clue why you would trade Petrka. Sign him to a long term contract and call it a day. This is a point per game player if the Sabres powerplay wasn't awful.

agreed - if there is one good thing for Buffalo right now, their younger players aren't putting up their true points potential due to their bad PP. Peterka has very legit PPG potential. If he were to accept a 6x6.5M? You need that.

Yes im sure a young 60 pt pacing fwd is available for a nothing player like arvidsson, prospect (oilers have non of interests, and your best one literally came from the sabres) and a 2nd (might be the most valuable piece here)
Never underestimate the Sabres front office. I expect some bad trades to upgrade the Sabres right away at the expense of their future. This trade proposal is still horrible for Buffalo though.

At some point their future is going to be in the past. Getting rid of Skinner should have unlocked a lot of the younger talent, but apparently he was the glue to the team? Of course, the Lindy Ruff reunion tour was probably not a good idea. But I just don't see where this team goes from here.

Two things… Peterka is not getting shopped if you actually read what the report says. It says that teams are calling about him… Very different thing. Number two all this joking about the Sabre is making bad trades… They have done a shitty job building a team, but they actually have not made bad trades. They had to dump disgruntled stars, but they got decent to good value in return… Would never going to win trades like the eichel trade. And even trades they made over the summer look fairly good… With the exception of spending a little loosely on that second round draft pick for malenstyn. Only somebody looking to spread a narrative would say they lost the byram trade.
