Two guys who are heavily in the trade rumors recently. Minnesota is almost certainly moving Rossi, and there’s rumors Peterka is unhappy. Is it fair? Who adds? Which side would you rather have?
Why does Peterka's name come up this much? Why wouldn't Buffalo just want to keep and cherish that guy?![]()
Because some crap reporter thinks he's unhappy in buffalo and us now and RFA so OS is possible. Why does Peterka's name come up this much? Why wouldn't Buffalo just want to keep and cherish that guy?![]()
@Dr Jan Itor what do the stats say about this?I'm not. But I know many Sabres fans would do it because they think Rossi is some missing puecr but hus stats away from cap don't support that.

Because we need a heavier, 2-way presence in our top 6. Having two wingers who are unable or unwilling to play defensively responsible in your top 6 is not a recipe for success. Why does Peterka's name come up this much? Why wouldn't Buffalo just want to keep and cherish that guy?![]()
So.... Rossi?Because we need a heavier, 2-way presence in our top 6. Having two wingers who are unable or unwilling to play defensively responsible in your top 6 is not a recipe for success.
I think he can skate on stilts like the player in savannah bananas who bats on stiltsSo.... Rossi?![]()
Less than 1/3 of his 2024-25 points involved Kaprizov (19 of 63).@Dr Jan Itor what do the stats say about this?
It doesn't have to be for Rossi, although he does provide a positional need, I was responding to the question "Why does Peterka's name come up this much?".So.... Rossi?![]()
If we're trading him, I could be okay with Hayton+. Thinking Hayton+2026 1st (top 12 protected?) or maybe even Hayton+the middle of their three 2nds in 2026+Duda or something. I like Hayton but the Wild are giving up a lot in a Rossi-Hayton swap, there needs to be some quality added.Maybe for Hayton?
Hayton is a bigger faster player who was a top 5 pick that just had 20-26-46. I dont think there is a big difference value wise. There is a reason Rossi is getting traded. Hayton didnt get to ride shot gun with the talent Rossi did this year.In a vacuum I'm a big fan of Peterka if we're trading Rossi, I just don't know how it works with the cap and finding a replacement center.

I don't know what clownshow started down that path originally, but like gossip at an old womens sewing circle, it somehow got legs and the uninformed just ran with it. This 'Not playing with Kaprizov' narrative needs to die. Continuing with it is just feeding the ignorance monster. He's rarely played with Kap (which is crappy) and gets stuck on the 3rd and 4th lines with (mostly) plugs. The fact that he's got as good a numbers playing with the turds he was saddled with as he did this year is a testament to him and has almost zero to do with Kaprizov.I'm not. Same thing he had 2 years ago. I could see it happening though, since Hayton is 6'1" and seemingly good at face-offs. 2 things much more important than offensive production.Hayton is a bigger faster player who was a top 5 pick that just had 20-26-46. A quick look at his utilization at ES shows he played around half of his minutes with some combination of Zuccarello, Boldy, and Kaprizov. So i think the numbers show he generally had good linemates. I like Rossi enough as a player, but I don't think the Sabres are the best partner if he's being moved. I'd rather the Sabres keep Peterka or move him for a more pressing need like a top 4 RHD.I don't know what clownshow started down that path originally, but like gossip at an old womens sewing circle, it somehow got legs and the uninformed just ran with it. I think a quick look at most top 6 players' utilization at ES will show that they played most of their minutes with other top 6 players.A quick look at his utilization at ES shows he played around half of his minutes with some combination of Zuccarello, Boldy, and Kaprizov. The suspected idea is that Yurov is coming in and they're going to go after one in UFA.I’d pass on this if I was the Sabres.
Not sure why the Wild would move a C without getting one back either
