Only makes sense if Boston is sending back other cap dumps (McQuaid + Hayes?).
Yeah with Boston paying Tukka Rask $7 million per the last thing that Sweeney can afford is a $5.3 million backup for the next 3 years. Get real no way is Ken Holland dealing Howard to a divisional rival. Eklund can't be serious what credibility he had is really gone now.
Now...

Only way this would happen is if the Bruins suddenly announce Rask is out for most of the year an I don't think their are any real signs of that at the moment.
Eklund can't be serious what credibility he had is really gone now.
He had credibility before?

I cant see it happening but who knows

Putting aside the fact that it is Eklund how does Boston fit in his cap? Even with retention
...what? Rask is 4-0 and we have him signed long term. Khudobin has been far from stellar (and he's injured), and Subban/McIntyre aren't ready, but we've gone 2 years with a less than stellar backup G.
We have Rask, Khudobin, Subban, and McIntyre. If anything 2 of them have to go, and one won't be Rask.
Are Boston fans getting concerned with Subban's development? I know it takes a while for goalies to develop but he was a 1st rounder 4 years ago and he's still not ready for backup duty? I mean 4 years is about what it took Reimer
