howard for greene

Don't think the kings are willing to take him on for this season and 2 more afterwards even @ 50% (~2.65M) given their current can situation. Someone would need to be traded just to make this work once Quick comes back in the new year. Doesn't make sense.
howard for greene
LA then leaves howard unprotected and he either gets picked up by LA, they trade him or they buy him out
either way at 3 million or less(whats the difference between greene and howard??) howard is at least a proven reliable #1 goalie
LA cannot take on that contract unless Brown is going the other way and we know the Wings won't do that. Would be dumb for LA to take on a goalie making that much with multiple years left. No thanks he is your problem and bad contracts are hard to move in the NHL and we already have our contract problem we don't want yours too.
Kings are screwed this season after losing their best player. Bringing in another teams backup goalie isn't going change much.
You don't put a three year band aid on a wound that will be there for a few months.
well thats really not very fair now is it...

Howard for Brown. DONE
No, some people (ie. Wings fans) are severely overrating Howard's abilities and contract. Three years at almost 5.3 million for an average backup is going to be next to impossible to move. The only potential way to move him is if another awful contract comes back.Whoaaaa...people are severely underrating Howard in this thread.
Anyhow, he's not a great fit for LAK at the moment. Howard can fetch a lot when the time is right..... (i.e. longer term injury to someone's #1).
No thanks Brown is making close to $6 million per for another 6 years or so and hasn't hit 30 points in the last 4 years he's definitely regressing here.
Nobody scores in L.A. I'd put good money down that he'd score more in another situation.

yeah.. even Pavelec would be a better option than Howard at this point...
when Quick comes back in December, that gives LA 11M worth of salary for the next 2.5 years... not worth it
Unfortunately your Howard is our Brown. Good luck, better and cheaper options out there for the Kings
Jimmy Howard is a better goalie than Pavelec, especially if a significant portion of his cap is being retained.
Even Calgary should have traded for a retained Howard this summer, Elliott was just a product of a great D in front of him, while Howard has played in front of some of the worst D in the league.
He isn't worth his full cap hit, but he's a better goalie than most people give credit for around here.
not for the kings... the have Quick and wont be needing Howard for very long... unless you find a way to retain 75% of his salary, not worth it for the kings... and do I have to say that by the CBA/2011 you are not allowed to retain more than 50% on a contract
