You like people just for being German? Why? Also: Hi! :naughty:

Hey, how's it going

Half of my family is of German heritage and there are currently only 7 Germans in the NHL at the moment, so I typically enjoy keeping track of them (clearly not well enough given that I got Greiss and Enroth mixed up lol).

His numbers suggest otherwise, but I doubt he could be worse than Enroth was.

Hes definitely too hot and cold to be close a 1A for sure but he goes on 2-3 month stretches where he plays great. Especially right before his injury.

That was quite the injury though so who knows. Maybe he's worse now. Playing him in a backup role for now is definitely the way to go, but if he sticks around past this season it wouldn't surprise me to see it turn into a tandem.

I also don't see Andersen as a clear #1 either so maybe that's why I think this way.

Either way, Ramo definitely better than Enroth so good move Toronto

4 games isn't exactly a fair way to judge him as a goalie on a new team... *cough* Freddy *cough*

But for a career backup who had a really good season last year, he didn't exactly show enough to be worth a roster spot. Unfortunate, but oh well.

Bring on Ramo.

Its not just 4 games... its been 10 weeks of practice.

So a team very weak in goal decides to waive a goalie who besides the first minute against Calgary has looked better then his first 2 starts. Ramo isn't any better if he gets signed and sparks is an ahl goalie at best

Andersen has been playing really well for Toronto. Are you confusing another player or team?

Frodo letting in the first 2 shots against Calgary probably reminded Babcock a little too much of Bernier. Hopefully Ramo, or whoever the new backup is, doesn't give me the impression that all the games he plays in are automatic losses.

I've seen toronto play a fair amount this year because of where I live but to me Andersen doesn't look to be a true number 1 goalie. Remember Bernier had looked good in Toronto for his first year.

I don't get the Bernier comparison? Does that mean any goalie that looks good in a Leafs sweater isn't because of something Bernier did or did not do?
Now I have the urge to go through your posting history and see if I spot a trend.

Just curious is Marner German? A lot of NERs are German (Lehner). Besides he's from Markham, and I know a lot of Germans there (Great German restaurant there as well haha).

Take out the beginning of last year for Ramo and he's been solid. That was 100% our defense that left him out to dry.

Toronto will like him.

Seems more British to me, but I could be wrong. If he was from Kitchener or something I would be more inclined to think he was German.

I care more about food than I do hockey. What's the restaurant called? Am I allowed to ask this?

you aren't watching well enough then. he has a 930% since his bad 4 game start that is 14 games straight of 930 average goal tending.

Enroth doesn't come from Sweden, he comes from The Shire. Mother of god, this guy is TINY. Every replay I see, there are massively gaping corners. With players shooting the way they do today, if you don't have the size to let it just hit you sometimes then you're screwed in the NHL sooner or later. He's gotta be like 5'8 or 5'9'.
