Value of: JG Pageau to the Leafs

So I recently made a proposal thread with 2 proposals.

One was for Duclair.

The other was for JG Pageau.

OEL was going in both because Friedman had recently speculated that Toronto could move a d man for a forward.

Neither was accepted but they weren't completely destroyed like most propoals are.

So I figured I'd try a general value thread.

Because like I said regardless of if Tavares is back or not, and I have he will be, they still need a center

Remove any sort of player with salary and add a 2nd plus prospect. Taking cap back (with any term) is automatically a no go.

OEL has too much term for too many years left. Non starter. OEL for Engvall however is a trade I’d do.

MacLean is totally optional, but I heard he's trash and Islanders fans hate him. I figure Leafs could try him out and just waive him if the change of scenery doesn't help.

Leafs can hopefully sign a 2C (Tavares?) and move Domi to the wing, with Pageau at 3C.

Understandable.

Leafs are a bad fit for dumping Engvall, so the kind of deal they'd be willing to make probably wouldn't satisfy Islanders.

If Darche wants Misa more than Schaefer (for whatever reason), do 1st overall + Engvall for 2nd overall + pick/prospect

Leafs have only Rielly who is a puck-mover, and OEL to a lesser extent. Leafs may want to move on from Rielly possibly, leaving only OEL as SOMEWHAT of a puck-moving D. OEL is also on a contract with a good cap hit and reasonable term. Doesn't make sense to me that they would trade him unless it's for a puck-moving D.

Reilly and Jarnkrok both have too much term left and no interest on retaining on Engvall. Try contacting Vancouver or Edmonton to see if they want to swap players and fix their roster mess.

do You know what a NMC is? You should Marner has used It at least twice.

Rielly has one too, and Lebrun has already said he's NOT waiving it.

You need to let go of the idea of Rielly moving.

He MIGHT waive to go home to Vancouver, I doubt it, but he MIGHT.

Otherwise he's a Leaf.

Pelech, Romanov, Perunovich, George. Plus UFA: TDA, Reilly. Plus potential draftee Schafer.

Plus the Isles currently aren't contending.

So where is the need for the NYI to add an old, expensive LHD?
