Konency is not 25 and under.I'm all for trading Risto and Laughton, they're 30, they won't be around in 3 years in any case.
You want a team entirely composed of players 25 and under, go root for Buffalo.
You want a few "keystone" veterans for a young team.
It's not that they might not get a good player with the late 1st they'd have gotten for TK, but it's extremely unlikely they'd get a 1st line forward, or at best, one that will reach that level before 2030 (when he'd be 24).
The player they drafted with a hypothetical pick last summer would be 24 in 2030.Konency is not 25 and under.
And? Players (especially first rounders) can contribute before age 24. It's actually common on teams outside the Flyers. The player they drafted with a hypothetical pick last summer would be 24 in 2030.
Uh, 33 year old TK is probably not going to be near the player he is now. I mean I guess it's possible, but it's a massive risk when you could have more young talent instead.TK will be 33 in 2030.
Which one is more likely to contribute to winning with Michkov in his prime years?
The first line forward can be picked with their own pick since they are now a worse team without TK. Trading him also improves all of their own picks.I'm all for trading Risto and Laughton, they're 30, they won't be around in 3 years in any case.

Or should we be writing off Luchanko until 2030? Your narratives don't make a cohesive argument. It's "prospects won't be useful for 6 years" when you want to defend Briere not trading Konecny, and "Luchanko is going to be the 2nd line center next year" when you want to defend Briere passing on Buium. Not to mention "we only need a to add a few impact players with all our draft picks this year to be good".
Pick a lane.
