Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

don’t think I agree with those who think the Jets’ window is closing. I think the older guys on the team have a few years left of star-calibre production. And I look at our prospect pool (particularly at fwd, outside of Elias Salomonsson at D) and it’s intriguing, to say the least. I wonder if all (or most) of the following play with the Moose in the upcoming season: Colby Barlow, Kieron Walton, Kevin He, Brayden Yager. You add those guys to Lambert & Chibrikov and suddenly there’s a decent sized pool of younger players at forward. Will they all pan out? No, odds would say. But I like the odds of a few of them making it and potentially top-6 potential. It’s not unrealistic to think that a few of them will play NHL in the not-too-distant future on cheap ELC contracts.

I may be in the minority here, but I don’t hate that Chevy didn’t trade like 3 of these prospects for an older rental. Just like I didn’t understand those last year who wanted Perfetti to be traded at the deadline.
He and Walton are not AHL eligible next season.

Julien is.

I wouldn’t mind a rotating rookie position to give a bunch of players a few games at NHL level.

Thank god we didn't trade Yaeger and a 1st for Brock Nelson. Avs better resign him fast.
Avs likely don't have the cap space to re-sign Nelson. He's likely going to get over $7M AAV as a UFA this summer. He's one of the UFAs that might interest the Jets, especially if they don't re-sign Ehlers. Duchene is another UFA C that might be of interest. It really depends on re-signing Ehlers.

Didn’t Nelson refuse to lift his no trade clause to come here at the deadline? Can’t see him signing here long term.

Ah ok. I thought Walton played for the moose this year for a few games but I was perhaps mistaken.
He did play for the Moose but only after his team was eliminated. Same rule applies for 2025-26 season. He’ll be able to start with the Moose in the 2026-27 season.

I think this team is going to be running out of prospect gas in a few years (if it hasn't already). The 2011-16 core is already way older than the Atlanta core was in 2011. Buff and Enstrom were the oldest at age 26 in 2011. Vilardi turns 26 this summer...
