Didn't DD do substantially better during his stint with the Moose compared to Norfolk?
As stange as it sounds, some goalies will play better at higher levels if they base their game on hockey IQ

I think that's one of the reasons that people say that goaltending is "voodoo"... the game at the pro level has so much more structure in it than the junior game

Who do we have among our young draft picks that can maybe come in within the next couple years who can add some grit and some higher end scoring?
We need someone who likes to live in front of the net a bit more. Lambert is more of the same as far as I can see.
Is Chibrikov one of those guys. Rashevsky maybe?
Does Walton have any aspects of that game in him?

Chibrikov is 5'10" 170, so he might be a pest but not a big netfront presence.

Those guys are top 10 picks

For reference, Chibs has worse numbers in the AHL than Apples did

Yep.

Irritating and highly-skilled buzzsaw who can burn goalies from even sharp angles with a wicked shot, but not a netfront anchor.

Tho we've seen Perfetti do it, so...

Perfetti was tied for the team lead in hits after 2 periods last night and got Bischel off his game in the third right before Bischel took that dumb penalty.

Size is nice if used but small players can be just as effective at throwing the opposition off. See Marchand.

I believe that Walton is ROUGHLY similar to a young Blake Wheeler without the gifted skating ability. The grit isn't apparent yet. But these young players can evolve as they develop.

I like big guys because even if they don't develop a mean streak, it's still hard to push them around and intimidate them.

Yeah, he doesn't have the muscle yet to even try to play that type of game. Once he fills out who knows.

The games I watched of walton he seemed to have little interst in the physical part of the game,he is alot more involved in that aspect, barlow doesn't shy away from the rough stuff and does get passed and gives it back, but he doesn't have a mean streak.walton is as physical as rick Middleton was.

If Walton has close to Wheeler's intensity and work ethic, he will be a really good NHLer.

Who woulda thunk perfetti would have added effective physicality to his game?

I’ve seen mixed reports. To be clear which Jets prospects that haven’t played for the moose are now eligible and potentially will play for them this next year.

What about Barlow?

don’t think I agree with those who think the Jets’ window is closing. I think the older guys on the team have a few years left of star-calibre production. And I look at our prospect pool (particularly at fwd, outside of Elias Salomonsson at D) and it’s intriguing, to say the least. I wonder if all (or most) of the following play with the Moose in the upcoming season: Colby Barlow, Kieron Walton, Kevin He, Brayden Yager. You add those guys to Lambert & Chibrikov and suddenly there’s a decent sized pool of younger players at forward. Will they all pan out? No, odds would say. But I like the odds of a few of them making it and potentially top-6 potential. It’s not unrealistic to think that a few of them will play NHL in the not-too-distant future on cheap ELC contracts.

I may be in the minority here, but I don’t hate that Chevy didn’t trade like 3 of these prospects for an older rental. Just like I didn’t understand those last year who wanted Perfetti to be traded at the deadline.
