I haven't been banking on Salo being a point producing D, so him being able to get points in the AHL as a rookie is really great.
My main hope with Salo has been to be a really good two way D based on his skating and solid defensive play. Great start for him.

Salomonsson leading the team with 9 points in 10 games, tied with Chibrikov who has played 11 games.
I've watched him a lot lately and that is still his game but he's benefiting by being the dmen on pp1. He has a plus shot and finds the lanes to get it through.

I think he's #1. I think once he gets his chance he will be a full time Jet.

I think he might position himself as an injury callup, maybe first in line on the right side. It really depends because very few teams rely on rookies to get them through the playoffs, they generally have to be of the exceptional nature (Makar). Even a guy like Subban spent a whole year in the A, before getting the callup as an injury replacement.
I hear a lot of good things about his game but I notice that he has gone backwards from being a +4 player after week one to -1. So he's getting outscored regularly ES. I can't say if it is because of the forwards having no scoring punch, goaltending, or d-partners, @surixon would have a better idea of this one. And he is generally effusive of him.
He's getting ice time now, top PP, I think he gets top or 2nd unit PK, at a pro level, that he might not get on the Jets, so it's not bad to keep him playing a lot of minutes in a lot of different game situations (He was out in a 4-3 PK in OT, and I believe was the first d-man on for 3 on 3). In the development phase those big minutes and key situations could be the difference between growing into a top 4 d-man or playing effective sheltered minutes at the NHL level and having to grow from there.
I think our prospect rating would certainly be different now than they were at the start of the season.
#1 looks like either Yager or Salomonsson.

Freij would probably be higher, He for sure, and Walton, and guys like Barlow would probably slide, Rashevsky too.
I wouldn't be using plus/minus to grade anyone on this Moose team. The team was third worst in GF up until today.
His defense has been good, but like any young player, especially one new to the NA game there are still things to work on.
He's getting what I hoped he'd get and that is a lot of reps in offensive situations and he's really growing in that regard each time I see him.
He's showing more offensive instincts then I thought he had. He knows how to support a rush/cycle and get open in good spots (his second goal)

Yager's numbers are good but then you look at what others are doing there and he's 27th in scoring. Not saying it's bad but just that it's crazy the numbers some of these guys are putting up. One kid has 20 goals in 17 games.
I think that is highly influenced by team quality. Moose Jaw is a poor team and low-scoring. As a rough estimate, Yager has a point on about 46% of all of MJ's goals this season.
As a comparison, the top-producing WHL player has a point on about 49% of his team's goals this season. Yager is likely getting added attention from opponents because MJ doesn't have as much talent depth.

That's what I was thinking too. I remember guys saying Moose Jaw is not a good team this year and would be interesting how he does. So I guess his numbers are probably really good considering.

Once Yager gets traded he will explode. Right now its likely he ends up in Prince George or Everett, if I had to put money on it

Percentage of his team’s points is definitely my go-to number as well.
46% is excellent. Shows that he can drive play which is important.
Compare that to Colby Barlow’s draft year (his best year) where he was at around 23%. That was one of the big reasons I was unhappy with that draft pick.
