Jets on Amazon Prime

Didn't know where to put this but watching the broadcast for the Jets game on Amazon Prime and it is really, really well done. It is so interesting how they are doing it, without any CBC or TSN bias towards the Leafs or Habs and just ultimately forgot about. it is very objective and the hype and style they do it in reminds me of how the NFL does it, lots of experiential feel with the countdown clock going. It views the Jets as simply a top tier team, period. No small market bias or this narrative that players dont want to play here, just simply pumping up the leading team in the NHL. Its refreshing

This leads me to wonder if this sort of broadcast has the potential to change the perception of the Jets in the league. To something more desirable because of a winning atmosphere. I like us being perpetual underdogs but i am actually just a really proud Winnipeger and would love nothing more than to have our city seen differently

St Louis broadcast was fine but the Prime production is fantastic. Great talent too

Amazing how Amazon can waltz into the room and knock it out of the park in their first go, while SN still struggles to put together a coherent and entertaining broadcast,

The more out of town broadcasts I watch, the luckier I feel that we have our crew, Sawyer included.

It's so painful having to watch the Jets on Sportsnet. We get the worst play-by-play guys, who you can tell did zero research on the Jets prior to the broadcast.

So much better than Sportsnet! Amazon crew seemed a bit skewed towards St.Louis but nowhere near as bad as any SN game.
Only thing that bothered me was Amazon local Winnipeg area and streets after dark shots 90 minutes before sunset! WTF!

Prime isn't infested with Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton fans calling themselves broadcasters . TSN isn't quite as bad as Sportsnet because they do the majority of the Jets games. If Prime stays like this next year i hope we have more games on Prime.

It was refreshing that it did not have the Eastern bias. They even had a local theme during both intermission. It also helps Hnidy is a great colour guy and that the Jets played their asses off!

Ok Sportsnet please sell off allot of inventory to Prime because that was so much more enjoyable than the typical Canadian based broadcasts that need to genuflect to the big Canadian markets.

Sawyer is better than almost anyone at Sportsnet. Even Hnidy is so overrated here. He says like 6 words in an entire game. That being said the Prime crew is outstanding.

TSN/SN both use stock photos/shots all the time. I work downtown on a fairly high floor so I know when there's snow on the roofs or not. I've seen them use photos during the playoffs when I've worn shorts to games that make it look like January. I'm guessing they use the drone 3-4 times a year and that's it.

Didn't see last nights broadcast but I'll echo for the only Amazon broadcast I did see. It was balanced and fair. I'm still not keen on yet another subscription service to get Jets games. I'm already paying for cable just for the sports. Ugh.

Also on Sawyer (shut up), yes, any day of SN.

Anyone else have their Prime signal drop out last night?

Happened late in the 3rd during a timeout. Signal was becoming pixelated leading into the time out then dropped out all together for about 30 seconds before returning just before the puck was dropped. Final moments of the game for me had a slightly pixelated signal that would correct itself, buy then go blurry again.

I like the Prime games, often watch them when they’re on. Prime is learning and improving
