I had to slow down reading the 5th book. After I read A Feast for Crows in a weekend, I realized that I only had one book left before I had to wait for the 6th one.

Same. And with the pace that GRRM has right now, 2024 will be a great year. ;)

Seriously though, with all the setting up of new characters and scenarios that books 4 and 5 have done, I have a feeling that Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring will be an all-out sprint to the finish.

I really hope AA can add some parts to help push the Jays over the top.
It is almost the end of July and the Jays are still in it.
So there is hope yet.

On a baseball side note. I got tickets to the American Association skill competition next Monday.
Looking forward to it

I couldn't decide between that and the All-Star game the next night but I ended up going with the All-Star game.

See, that's why I go to the gym.

To use the weights as weapons when people start punching me in the face.

Haha I go to the gym as well, I'm going to start getting off the creatine though I do not want to move up in weight class and fight larger boxers and I find it is causing some cramping in the later rounds.

East, that is a sickening story for what happened to Bartman. On a related note, that is one of the best documentary / exposee's that I have ever seen. Incredibly thorough - love how they make the fans black and white, then colorized the ones they are talking to or about. Also, showing the events by removing the fans makes for some tremendous film.

I loved that part when the removed the other fans and also when they showed how multiple other fans made an attempt at the ball.

Gotta say two things about Suits new "season" on Netflix.

First, I absolutely cannot stand the way Suits divides their seasons, leading to only 10 of the 16 season 3 episodes appearing at the current time on netflix.

Second is that I love Donna having a love interest for the varies states of dress she is in :naughty:

Which is why I'm only on the second book lol

Edit: really dislike when my screen lags behind my typing on my phone. I hate my xperia and sony has lousy customer service. Asked them how to get my music on my phone from my itunes. They told me. But to get them to tell me how to get it to play continuously through the 700 songs I put on it. Want a new phone badly but can't afford it

Hydrate!

But if you've been on creatine for a while you might even drop a weight class by getting off of it. So much water.

Have you seen the opening episode of Season 2?

House of Cards is unreal. I love the anti-hero's. Kevin Spacey is such a polarizing actor to me. The Usual Suspects, American Beauty, Se7en, House of Cards, hell even his voice work for Moon are amazing. Then he has such terrible movies like 21, K-Pax, Horrible Bosses. Can't figure him out (more good than bad though) but man does he nail the ultimate anti-hero in House of Cards. Such a great show. Gotta love his southern drawl as well, despite being from New Jersey.

West Wing is one of those rare shows that I haven't checked out. It was just a BIT before my time in terms deep political show while I just a BIT too young for at the time. It's on my list. It's actually right near the top of my list of shows to watch along with another american politics show although in a completely different tone in Veep (Tony Hale!).

I love House of Cards. American Politics is fascinating to me. That first episode of Season 2 is amazing.
What really made it cool was the very last scene of that episode . Can't say more as don't want to spoil but I think you'll know what I mean.

The cufflinks said it all :)

Do you like the third season?

Do you like the third season?

Not as good as seasons 1 and 2 from what I can tell, but I definitely do like it. One case story is interesting and a nice change, only thing really pissing me (not done season yet) is Louis v Mike storyline late in season (the concept behind it, which if you've seen it I think you know what I mean). That has been DONE already in both the past two seasons and really felt tacked on to the end of season 3. Not finished the season but it just pisses me off rather than create drama, IMO.

Okay, so you're still satisfied overall. I think Suits went downhill veeeery, very fast once season 3 started. It began with the last 3/4 of the 2nd season, IMO. I didn't even made it past the 5th episode from season 3, AFAIR.

The main problem for me is their super forced, created drama between pretty much everyone in that chancery, their annoying overuse of "I'm gonna say something reckless, turn around and leave your office with you looking after me"-scenes, the Mike and cute girl love story became boring pretty fast once they got together AND the fact that Mike is actually just a typical good layer by now. Nothin special about him anymore since everyone accepted, no matter if he went to Harvard or not.

I wouldn't disagree that season 3 was a downgrade from what we've seen before. I agree that there was some forced drama there, although I think the Brit/Yank issue was kinda decent. I just think everything Conelith Hill has done is awesome though (Varys for the Win!). Past the stupid, IMO, Mike v Louis issues it seems to have gotten better, although I am not yet done season.

Good for you. I'm always kind of "happy" for others liking a TV show that turned out bad or boring for me. I know so many people who stopped watching How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory or Two And A Half Men because it became pretty boring and repetitive for them. I personally never stopped watching these shows, they always at least still worked for me but I can see why it didn't for others.

I hope Brooklyn nine-nine can keep it up.
