The play-by-play guy is new, Steve Mears. He comes from the Pittsburgh area and has been received pretty well here. His first season here (and at this level). Haven't really noticed any extreme homerism. I didn't tune in until now so missed if there's was some blatant example. Color commentator Jody Shelley is a former player and played for the Jackets (among other teams) and is usually pretty neutral and rarely talks ill of players or teams in my opinion.

I'd argue a little bit of homerism is fine for a home broadcast in any case.

Edit: Right, missed that but sounds a bit strange if he made such a comment. Shouldn't be normal, probably just slipped and maybe based on some random game he watched or even previous seasons given how well the Jets have played this year.
