Injury Report: Jets health in the playoffs

My guess is management views the second line as Perfetti's line over the next number of years. They will likely target player that best work with him. I think paramount to that is finding a one shot scorer that can find soft ice and likes to play a rotation/cycle offensive game.

So in terms of Nik, do they believe he's a good long term fit with Cole? My guess is that will play a big role in terms of if they bring him back or not.
Another hot take from Cole's dad 😃

Another non-contact jersey skate for Gabe this morning. Another good sign that he didn't aggravate anything yesterday and that he's well on his way back to the line up.

So not in today likely. I'd imagine he won't be back until game 3 in St. Louis at the very least. Solid 3 day gap.

If we win tonight, I doubt we see him before game 4... and that would only be if we lose game 3

No need to rush anyone back if we're winning... I'm sure the ultimate goal is a sweep and start round 2 with a healthy line up. Give Gabe and Nik another 10 days to heal

I agree, and 10 days healing time would be ideal. With Ehlers tho, I think it may be a groin injury that would take longer, however I’m hoping it’s a foot injury as they say, then he could be back.

Ehlers speed will be needed against a very fast Avs team.

People here keep saying groin injury for Ehlers but the only thing I’ve heard is a recurrence with a foot problem he had before?
There is always so much speculation around injuries and most of it is off the cuff speculation without any real information. You just need to watch what players are in their recovery. Vilardi appears close no way to know on Ehlers.

I heard a rumour at the game tonight from someone pretty connected in the business community that he has heard that Ehlers has a broken tibia and will be out 4-6 weeks. I know the guy also has connections from his junior hockey days so at least to me it is pretty credible.
Seems to line up with those on this board suggesting that based on info that the earlierst he can be back is mid round-2 and quite possibly miss the entire 2nd round.

Great player, but made of glass. I love Ehlers, and we need him, but if he has a broken tibia, I think at least 6 weeks, but 4 would be great

I always wonder why people with no knowledge of what is actually going on, speculate on these injury threads as if they know reality. Why?
Starved for real information and speculation fills the gap I’m guessing. That said, and adding to the speculation, he’d be wearing a leg cast and not a walking boot with a broken or fractured tibia I assume. Tibia is a major bone in the leg.

Kelly Moore on CJOB says he personally saw Ehlers in a walking boot, so I don't think it's groin either.

...unless he is, like, super er....hung?
You don't typically walk around in a walking boot for a fractured fibula, unless perhaps it's a chip on the medial malleolus.

Regardless, being in a walking boot likely means a substantial injury and a longer recovery time than anyone would like to see.

Do they not wear a walking boot the entire time? I swear he was visible off to the side at the end of Game 1 when the Jets left the ice into the dressing room and he wasn't wearing a boot then.
