Injury Report: Jets health in the playoffs

I have a feeling we will need to make it out of first round without both Ehlers and Vilardi...Samberg will be fine come game time on the weekend. Not sure how that will work out for us...

Where’s your link?????

Maurice want even born until 1967!

I’m sick 🤧 and tired of all the Bull- crap 💩 that Maurice gets on these boards….. He won the Stanley Cup last year….. And his quote was

“ It’s great achieving a life long dream in finally winning the Stanley cup ….. if I could only wish for one more thing and that would be Winnipeg winning the cup next year”…,…..

I can’t wait 😛 for the Final of Florida /Jets and have him respond to his last years quote after just winning last years cup!
Relax .... I believe it was a joke.
Everybody loves Maurice on this board now ... he finally won the Cup he deserved.
Injuries status was a running joke with Maurice ... he never told the truth about injuries.

Jets are gonna need both Vilardi and Ehlers pretty badly. Vilardi has big playoff goals written all over him and Ehlers is playing for a contract on top of a Cup and his playoff stats are the only ? about him.

This current situation adds even more credence to just how important it was to lock up #1 in the Central.

Missing any of these guys against any team in the playoffs would suck -- but it'd especially suck against Colorado in an opening round.

Adding Gabe back into the fold if they can get through round one (if that's the timeline for him, who the hell knows) would be a massive shot in the arm.

I think it’s his back, and they don’t want to say. Back problems come and go, but when they flare up, they are painful, and limit mobility.

He’s had back problems before and in LA, they kept him out of the lineup for long periods. They don’t really go away, and very hard to fix.

Just a guess on my part tho.
Well if he has back problems the Jets better becareful signing him. We shall see by the weekend on how serious it is.

It's a tall order to be ready to go less then a week to go before the playoffs without even stepping foot on the ice.
Yeah, but we don't have any real information to go on. Just strikes me as one of those recovery timelines that has the feel of game 1 being he target date. Actually I think we will end up being pretty healthy come game 1.

I'm assuming we won't hear much until right before the series. By the reactions, Samberg and Ehlers seemed bad. Especially Samberg, he doesn't usually stay down.

He was questioned about his back when he was traded here and it sounded to me like he was getting sick and tired of being questioned about it. He said it had healed a few years prior to that.
If I had to guess, it would be shoulder.

Ford is injured and Mason Shaw is probably next as he's the top scorer with the most experience, with some physicality.

Lambert lately has played well even though his goals went down a lot this season. He still has speed and had loads of assists.
Ford is back on the ice with the Moose. Just got cast off. Traveling with the team, maybe gets into one of the games on the final Moose road trip, though it sounds like he's not quite there. Should be available at some point of the Jets 1st round series at the very least.

I'd expect Shaw to get called up for playoffs. He's been a good soldier on the farm. Crazy that 37 points is team leading.

But shows how quick the depth erodes.

Shaw, Toninato and Ford are probably not the guys you want first up on your playoff depth roster. With a healthy Ehlers and Valardi, JAD, Gustafsson and Kupari are the guys who would be in those depth roles, and Lambert and Chibrikov would provide more skilled options.

For context the Blues have 2021 1st round pick Bolduc (taken one spot ahead of Lucius) already contributing, 2022 1st round pick Snuggerud has joined the team, and is playing in some meaningful games, and their first of three 2023 1st round picks, Dvorsky, is up with the team as a 19 year old, after playing most of the season in the A, while the Jets may not have Brayden Yager available at all, in his WHL/Memorial Cup run.

The only player I'm worried about for game 1 is Vilardi. From Arniel's comments it seems like Samberg will be fine, and it didn't seem like he was also overly worried about Ehlers.

With Vilardi, they say he's not skating yet, but you never know I guess. Feels like one of those, he's either less injured than they're letting on and he'll be ready to go for game 1, or he's more injured than we think and might be a long way away and they don't want to tip their hand.

Obviously we want everyone healthy for game 1. I really hope Vilardi gets skating soon and plays in the 1st round.

Question though, let's say Vilardi is back for the 1st round, do you put CSV back together? I can see the thought process for Arniel, but I've really liked having Iafallo with Connor and Scheifele. He adds something there I think. And, Vilardi will likely need time to get back up to speed, and putting him on L1 might not be the best. Could really balance out the lines if Vilardi comes back and you keep AI on L1 too.

Gabe back to the first line if he's healthy imo, he's been missed in front of the net, he's so good at winning puck battles especially on the PP. I dunno where Al would fit in right now, back on the 4th line I'd think unfortunately

I think Arnie puts Volare back on the first line...not what I'd do but I think it is what he does.

Here is what I'd do...
KC Scheif Alex
Perfetti Volare Ehlers
Nino Lowry Apples
Tanev Barron Names

JMo DD
Sammy Pionk
Schenn Miller

Not what people around here would do, not what I would do, but, I imagine 1st game is Stanley Schenn.

I imagine line up for game 1
KC Schief Al
Perfetti Names Nino
Tanev Lowery Apples
JAD Barron Gus.

JMO DD
Berg(Schenn) Pionk
Stan Miller (Schenn.)

I don't know about health of injured jets.
