Lets get a list together showcasing the historical Jets anthem for intros and goal song. There has been tons of misunderstandings from fans and even sports reporters and ppl from the Jets organization what really was part of the Jets historical play list.


We will start with the 2000's

Taking Care of Business - Winnipeg's BTO

Celebrate - 3 Dog Night
This goal song was used for about 4 years and played when Jets had the lead. Not many Jets fans likely remember this.


Another goal song that was used was played by the organist with constant drum beats and then play a traditional organ song which was also played at Montreal Canadiens games in the '80's and '90s. (if anyone has a link to song please post)
This was played also for majority of playoff White Out games including the famous OT Jets/Oilers goal.



Its also a myth that Jump was used for goal songs. It really was the intro song in the late '80s and up to 1991(1st period only)

Used often in 1992-93 and start of 1995 lockout season to honor the big 1994 summer concert series in Winnipeg.

I would like Jet by Wings to be the opening tune or Crazy Train by Ozzy or Kickstart my heart by Motley Crue , the last 2 are great tunes to get the fans going right away.

I certainly don't remember this.



It's relatively ancient from 1970. I can't imagine this being played in the 80's or 90's.

I do remember the chorus of "Hot Line" by the Sylvers at a few of the games I saw in the mid 70's as a kid. Was a fave on mine when I was sevent! I really thought it was about Hull, Nielson & Hedberg. It's actually likely the reverse as this song was played often enough on KY58 that it likely inspired someone.

Absolutely HATED "Shout" as the goal song last year, very poor decision to force fan participation in the celebration.

As for ranking the Jets 2.0 goal songs given the type and sound of goal horn we have I would rank them:

1. Rev Theory - Hell Yeah
2. Van Halen - Jump (close second for nostalgic reasons)
3. The Isley Brothers - Shout (a distant third, poor choice)

I would not be opposed to going back to Hell Yeah. It flowed well with the goal horn and celebration of the crowd despite being a mediocre song overall it worked for what we were using it for.

Don't really pay much attention to their entrance songs anymore though going back to Jump would be cool.

Hell Yeah was a terrible goal song. The only thing good about it is the band is not that popular so the song and music could be viewed as original.

Jump is not a bad goal song but they should just go instrumental.

I think the intro song should be Danger Zone and it not being that adds to my puzzlement of TNSE staff.

Danger Zone is a good example of bland, 80s, hit radio rock. I'm pretty sure it was at least part of the inspiration behind the parody song "America, **** Yeah!" from the Team America World Police soundtrack. Speaking of...that would be a good goal song (except for the swearing)!

hmmm. Well considering Top Gun soundtrack is one of the biggest soundtracks in history. And the theme was used for the playoffs and that hit the spot which also fits with the organization theme. Give me more of that bland 80 rock.

Then again we can go to the 2000's and use all of the amazing talented musicians we have today
