Wheeler has to get his stick down net front. Had two easy back door tap ins but he’s just completely unaware down low, wedging his ass into D for position but has his stick on his hip.

At what point does attendance start to become concerning? 2nd lowest attendance of the year on a Friday night game, 13240 which is only 30 more than the lowest of the year which was a Saturday afternoon game against Chicago.

The team looks much better this year and there is reason for hope yet the people are not coming back.

Likely not a concern for another few years.

The league is in a different spot than it was in 1996. The league isn’t gate-driven anymore and True North has diversified their income portfolio. The Coyotes are playing in a 3,500-seat arena; we aren’t in danger of losing the Jets, IMO.

I wouldn’t mind if we continue to have poor crowds, because I think that will reflect in the ticket prices. The economy SUCKS right now, but it would be nice if Jets tickets came down enough so that middle class families could at least attend a couple of games a year.

———

So in five games this year, Rittich has save percentages of the following:

.871
.905
.905
.889
.846

.881 on the season. Even as a backup goalie, that’s not good enough.

I was expecting a bloodletting on here.

I think the Jets maybe looked at their own place in the standings and didn't bring the same emotion they did in the past few games against divisional opponents as they should have for a non conference team down in the standings.

First couple of shifts were good. Jets could have easily taken the lead by the middle of the 1st PP, but then came the push.

I don't know if Laine beating Dubois on a faceoff is a statement for this game, but that was one of the keys to goal #1. Laine and Roslovic brought their A games tonight, there was a lot of motivation in their play...It was nice to see Wheeler make a good play at the end to keep Laine from the Hattrick. Jets struggled with coverage as the Jackets outskated them at times creating more odd man situations than the team usually gives up. Without a doubt the Jackets got the goaltending to win too, and negate any momentum gained.

Only thing I took away from the lineup is that Barron is probably not ready for a top 6 role. Gagner should have finished at least one chance tonight in that role, but his defensive game is still going to give Bowness some tough decisions.

There's always going to be these kind of games over the course of the season, where you get outworked, outplayed. The key to good teams is not to repeat poor performances.

What did they expect when they signed him? .886 last season with Nashville!

Who wants to venture to downtown Winnipeg after dark?

Well...nobody outside of a Jets game. Contrary to the narrative prior to building of the arena for the Moose, games actually add to the safety of downtown for a temporary period. Remember the big heads from the Universities talking about "rape culture" and all the testosterone flowing around games? Yeah, they got it backwards. The only times downtown is arguably safe after dark is when games or events are on and critical population mass is achieved.

Winnipeg's downtown problems haven't been resolved, but for better or worse we haven't taken the approach that Edmonton has, shunning the "undesirables" to an area four blocks north of where the money is and keeping them there, quite ardently.

The vast majority of NHL owners have to deal with chronic under capacity. Of course Mark would be concerned and might even be working the phones to sell tickets into the business community. I assume TNSE were always aware the honeymoon would come to an end and they would inevitably have to join the club where you are always selling.

Welcome to the world of owning an NHL team, it’s not for the faint of heart.

I should add I don’t have concerns that the Jets are a flight risk. There are going to be ups and downs and the business will take more work but that’s not the worst thing in the world for an operating partner.

Well that sucked but shit happens, if this happened for 6 or 7 games then i might start to worry a bit . We out shot them 38-26 and they blocked 27 shots to our 19 . Puck just wasn't going in for us and their goalie played well. Let's win on Sunday.

Most of the team was bad but PLD killed the Jets chances with the first 2 goals that were on him. Jets never had a chance after that. That PP goal with 3 mins to go and down 4 is a perfect example of how he has been piling up empty calorie points while not being the player we need him to be. I would rather Korpisalo got a shutout than he get to pad his point totals with some garbage time points. 0 hits all game from him. Bad on the faceoff dot too like he has been for a few games. Connor's goal scoring ability also disappeared as soon as the black shadow of 80 landed on his line.
Come on Dude, your hate for Dubois is a little over the top. Nobody on the Jets really played well but the Jets didn't lose this game because of Dubois.

I think after last season, we have come to expect games like this from the Jets. As they say...

Pretty hot take here IMO.

He wasn’t great but Scheifele was worse. As was most of the team.

I love Comrie the person but he has played in 11 games this season and is rocking the .887 save % so pretty much just as shitty as Dave.

These guys are back ups for a reason. Some years we get luckier than others with our back ups. So far they hasn’t been the case with Dave, he is playing pretty much as expected.

Yeah, I didn’t expect No Save Dave to be any good. Backups are a gamble but Rittich is not helping us at all. Few more games like this and I’m be looking at a waiver pickup.

I really do miss Laine.
I don't.

I knew this was going to come up. People get excited when he scores and I actually saw more effort from him last night than I did in the last 2 years he was here. No thanks

like clock work... and rofl at blaming him for connor, like we weren't hoping connor would get the monkey off his back for the first 13 games while playing with scheifele...
There's a reason I don't see his posts any more
