Lowry got owned in his matchup against McDavid

Scheifele won his matchup against Draisaitl

That should in theory open up your 3rd and 4th lines for some easy minutes. The Perfetti - Names - Iafallo line generated .08 xGoals and the Barron line generated .09x Goals for a combined .17 xG in about 15.5 mins of icetime a lot of it against guys like Sam Gagner and Derek Ryan.

First mistake was putting in AJF over Gus, if you are putting a skilled player on that line, give him something to work with, and no wonder you lost faceoffs when you healthy scratch a good faceoff guy. Bones did this shit all last season too when he kept playing Kuhlman/Saku and lost us Eyssimont. Chevy needs to take those type of decisions out of his hands. If Names is out for any amount of time, call up Chibrikov.

How come with 6:48 left in the game the score was 1 to 0 for the jets.....i don't think you like defensive games.

Is almost 80 shot attempts against and 40 shots against your idea of a defensive game? The Panthers game, even the Stars game that we lost the other day... good defensive game. This one? Absolutely not.

They weren't even trying to exit with control and maintain some type of puck possession after a point. This was a flashback to those awful defensive teams of 2019-2022 era Paul Maurice Jets.

Garbage effort front to back. Of not for Helle we get shitkicked tonight.

Going to give the coach a giant F for his performance tonight. He tinkered with the lines of a team that was playing good hockey and it blew up in his face with no lines looking at all organized. Instead of switching back he stubbornly leaves the lines as is and watches them all get caved in.

Aldo in what universe when you need a goal is it acceptable coaching to leave the teams second leading goal scorer on the bench until 25 seconds left in the game (when it's far to late to make a difference). Instead let's put out a rusty as all hell player who had the added bonus of committing the infraction late that led to us trailing. Sorry but that is juat absolute garbage coaching and someone in the media needs to grill him on it.
Yup. What`s really unfortunate though is that this is likely not a one-off but rather something we see repeated over and over again. The entire third period was a disaster waiting to happen (and it did) with the team literally trying to lock-down a one goal lead by continuously and intentionally just giving up possession and dumping the puck away. The defence started simply slamming the puck off the glass and out, and the forwards stopped putting any pressure on the Oil. All in the name of good "low-risk defensive hockey" you know... :sarcasm:.

I was disappointed they got out of structure and left him wide open. There was no excuse for that other than poor attention to detail. I give up.

He scores that bad angle goal on the one timer from PP almost every f***ing game against us. To be honest, that's a shot you are happy giving up. Helle just can't seem to handle it.

Wow, loss to the Coilers at home and it’s a 4 page PGT, sure a lot different around here now compared to 9-10 years ago or even 5 years ago, interest in the Jets has really sagged post Covid!:(

If by defensive game you mean Helle standing on his head then no I don't. This team has shown for most of the year what good defensive hockey looks like and tonight wasn't one of those nights.
Helle let in a softie, Skinner didn't. it was the difference......oilers were on a streak and Bones chose to play an entirely defensive game and it almost worked. Could have been a coaching error as Helli was hot, and he should have adjusted to their speed game for the third.

Good point but no one even in the vicinity
It is so frustrating to know it is going to happen but not being able to do anything about it

Can any goalie? He scores a ton of PP goals from that spot. I think hes the only player that regularly shoots from that angle. I think its a super awkward save for goalies.

Not sure what Nikolaj was doing with empty net, but he was likely our best skater tonight…Helle was obviously our best player but man…asleep at the wheel, goals like that are rarely scored in beer league!
Yeah.......that one really hurt is such a close game. I heard the air come out wooosh!

To be fair he scores that sharp angle one timer goal against everyone. It's nuts how proficient he is scoring from that spot.

Way to take a whole period off, Jets. It was a one-goal game and they blew it.

Bones elected to go into a defensive shell way too early. He had the team chip it out and dump in and then get right back into defensive shape. We stopped pressuring their players and gave them space to ramp it up.. You can't do that against such a fast and dangerous offensive team. It was a bad tactical decision, one of many by our HC last night.

Yup, went into the shell far too early. Something we saw a lot of last year and early this year. Significant difference between how he and Arniel manage the game. I don't care if Bones was talking daily with him, Arniel still was in control of the bench during games and in game adjustments and it was much better.

Well Damnit, we need to shoot the puck more instead of trying these pretty passes and slap passes, Edmonton's tying goal shows what can happen when you just shoot the puck on net. Even though i thought Ehlers had a pretty good game we can't have him with Scheifele and Connor because we need his speed on the 2nd line. And somebody absolutely should have gone after Janmark , what a absolutely dirty hit on Morrissey and to head to boot.

While we don't know for sure if Bowness was telling them to play that way if he did that was very dumb against a team like the Oilers.
