Sorry, I can't buy the generational argument. All the guys I discussed this with (okay, so only 4 in total) were undergrads like me at the various times.
In our change rooms, the older women (<40) tend to be more modest but boy do they check you out and give disapproving looks. I've also heard (in Van, pre-Covid) more than one snide remark between olders about young people "over-grooming". For once, I think the boys are more civilized by keeping their heads down.
Well, then I really don't know. Up until high school (mid 90s), no one at my school looked. Ever.
Maybe it was just a regional thing?
