1st half - bad. 2nd half - good. I'm far less upset about this loss, as it shows that they CAN play the d**ned game when they're motivated. Just don't understand why they go to sleep from time to time.

Note too: they didn't really change their "system" - they just friggin played it properly during the 2nd half.

Frustrating. Onward and upward - next game please!

Isn't it only the 3rd straight loss?

The team competed better in the second and third but you have to wonder if that was only because Dallas put in on cruise control, the same struggles still appeared to be there. At least it wasn't a shutout.

This is exactly why. It's like football you go in prevent defense cause your up by 21 in the 4th. The offense is moving the ball and you think they are doing good. But really its a mirage.

Outshot them 44-31
Outhit them 37-21 (although this is usually slanted in the home rink, so...)
Takeaways 11-1
FOW/FOL 40-24

Of course, the only stat that matters is 4-1 Dallas. :(

Any team can look good when the other team is protecting a 4 goal lead. I don't think we can say that the Jets started playing better in the second and third period. It's just as safe to assume that the Stars took their foot off the gas. Hard to tell.

2nd half was fine.

I liked the Ladd Scheifele Frolik line. Bogo and Trouba looked good together.

Did Jokinin win a draw tonight?

Just like they did in the first two games, but Noel broke them up and put Clitsome for no explicable reason other than maybe the fact that Clitsome is a veteran player.

Hopefully they're back together next game, give Postma another shot too.

How was the game and actual scoring chances? I didn't watch any of it, but when I checked in the first period we were getting out shot and looked like a typical loss. But to come back and register that many shots, surely we weren't playing that bad?

The game was over in the 1st. The narrative will suggest that the Jets improved because they won more faceoffs and had more shots, but Dallas sleepwalked through the final half of the game knowing the win was in their back pocket.

The #noeldeathwatch should be in full effect.

Haha, reading this at the exact same time that Noel is saying it on 1290.

Noelle thought that Pavelec played a good game. Priceless.

Sure we can say it - I just did. ;)

I get what you're saying, but you have to admit there was more intensity and effort tonight. In the 2nd half, they were completing passes, hitting, skating - these are things that aren't under control of Dallas.

Just trying to find a silver lining in this game, hoping for something more in the next.

I didn't watch the last 2 games because I'm travelling. Didn't read the GDT either only the PGT. Only real surprise is why Pavelec played both games. If we have no faith in our backup goalie then bring in someone else. Ihave no Idea how well Pav played or how poorly but that's kind of irrelevant. Why would you burn him out in October? You have to have planned rest for your #1. He had to sit one of these games.

My reverse psychology gambling did not work tonight, and for that I am truly sorry. Except for my winnings, that I'm ok with. Have a feeling Sunday will be a different story!

The Ladd - Scheifele - Frolik line was intriguing. Wouldn't mind seeing Kane - Little - Wheeler and LSF next game.

Jokinen was 58% on FO's tonight.

Spot on post.

I haven't seen the Jets look more overmatched at home than they were today. This roster is at worst a lateral step from what they had the last two seasons, so it really points to one thing.

Audio from Kane, Wheeler, Pavelec, Trouba and Bogosian.

Thought Kane and Wheeler audio was particularly interesting.

It would appear that yes the Jets started to come alive in the later part of the 2nd and the entire 3rd, but seriously Dallas was up 4-0 at that point. The Stars were apparently sitting back. This team is in big trouble and if they lose against the Devils, I can see a coaching change. Nothing against Noel but the players do not seem motivated to play a 60 minute game and that in my opinion is coaching.
