Prospect Info: Jets draft RW Dmitri Rashevsky - 5th Round, 146th overall

I'd be pleasantly surprised to see him come over. There will definitely be some winger jobs open next year and he's likely further developed then his competition.

Me too. Thought he showed well at the time.

I don't see Nik returning, and whilst he's a very tough act to follow, I reckon that some combo of Lambert (speed, shot), Chibby (puck skills, shot, pesky, can pick up the goon baton and fight Tyson Barrie) and maybe Rashers can fill that spot by committee.

Yup, I also expect the team to also go get someone on the Market that compliments Cole.

What I'd like to see

CSV
Offseason add - Perfetti - Lambert
Nino - Lowry - Barron
Chibs/Rash Names(to be the Russian speaking mentor) Iafallo

Do you think they'll actually move Perfetti to C?

No idea. They put him there a couple times this year so I don't think they have given up on it.

I also think its clear the org still wants an upgrade there and the easiest way is to grow one in house. It seems they moved Brad to wing which is what they did right before they planned for Cole to make it to the NHL. So my guess is the org is planning on opening a wing spot for Brad next year.

But who really knows. It's more what I hope they do then what I expect them to do.

Will be interesting to see if Dynamo offers him big money, would have to be quite a leap from his old contract to get him to stay.

Obviously if he thinks he can make it in the NHL I doubt there is much they can do to keep him unless it's serious $$$.
Does anyone know what his NHLE would be?

Edit: Found it. Would be around 37 for a full season.

67 face offs in total this season. Crosby does that in 2 games. 😆

Hopefully we can sign him, could be a huge add. Not very often you get to add a developed 25 year old winger. I wonder if he's waiting to see what happens with Ehlers before he signs. Odds of him beating out Lambert and Chibrikov for a spot have to be quite high. He can play either wing, works decently well in the corners, has a solid shot, has solid hands and is a little crafty with the puck.

If we don't sign Ehlers he's probably a lock to join the Jets but if we do I think he'd be a solid 3rd line W with Lowry. Add some skill to that 3rd line and possibly work his way up the lineup. Hopefully he signs either way.

Regarding the bolded:
It’s possible you’re blind, you might need glasses, or you could be looking in the wrong direction / places.

No disrespect intended……just saying! 😉

Time will tell.

Onwards & upwards!!

In defense of JetsUK, that post was a month ago when all indications were that he was gone. At that time I was thinking 98% Ehlers was gone.........now I'm around 60%. 😬

I’d take Rashevsky over an over priced Appleton on that 3rd line.

I'll fall off my recliner if Nik re signs before July 1st, unless it's a massive over pay for him by the Jets it just makes sense to see what other teams are offering.
True, unless he wants to play for the Jets.

My guess is that the Jets will make their best and final offer before July 1, and if Ehlers declines then the Jets will go in a different direction. The Jets won't want to be stuck waiting around for Ehlers' decision in case they need to work on trades or other free agent options to replace him.

So my guess is that we'll know about Ehlers and the Jets before July 1.

Does anyone know much about his game. Is he a top 6 or bust type or is he rounded enough that he could play with Lowry/Nino on line 3 with pp second unit pp reps.
Depends on his deployment. His game much more resembles that of a top 6 style player. I’m in the mindset the jets really do need to shift to three solid scoring lines instead of their top 6 bottom 6 method they currently employ. If a 2C is actually found, a 3rd line of Rashevsky, Namestikov and Chibi/Nino could be fun.

Does Chevy have a solid internet connection on his dock?
Thoroughly modern Chevy? He's got it covered.

He's also got his backup covered.
