Prospect Info: Jets draft RW Dmitri Rashevsky - 5th Round, 146th overall

Every couple of months when someone posts an X highlight of him scoring I wonder what he’s been doing in between these random highlights.

I doubt he comes over.

Can’t see this guy coming. I’d feel much more confident if he showed more offense than Jordan Weal or Max Comtois but he isn’t even close.

25 in October so I think its safe to say Demitry will join the likes of KVes as solid players not good enough for the NHL but still making a living in other pro leagues.

For a second or two I couldn't figure out why I couldn't like this post...:help:

I still can't see him ever playing for the Jets. If anything, we should throw his rights in on a deal to get a depth D-man this week. Maybe a team with a bunch of Russians on it would be interested in him (Philly or NYI)?

Bumping up thread,
With the recent prospect signings from KHL, I wonder if this is the year Dmitri Rashevsky comes over, I believe Dynamo is still in playoffs but his contract is due to run out this season.
I'm curious as a 24 year old if entry level contract is still 3 years and how long the Jets could have his rights.
Sounds like he would only play NHL with an escape clause from AHL.
Seems like a pretty consistent all-around players chipping in 20g per year.

One year ELC if he is 24 years old.
4th highest points and 2 above him are 32 years old.
He will play for the Jets next season if you ask me.

Does anyone know much about his game. Is he a top 6 or bust type or is he rounded enough that he could play with Lowry/Nino on line 3 with pp second unit pp reps.

I'd be pleasantly surprised to see him come over. There will definitely be some winger jobs open next year and he's likely further developed then his competition.
Ive always wanted having an impact Ruskie on Jets 2.0. Zhamnov and Khabibulan were some of my favorites. Rash and Chibby being mentored by Names in navigating Winnipeg and the NHL is ideal.

I think with Ehlers exit and the uncertainty around Lambert and Chibby it's worth giving him that one year ELC and the AHL escape clause. Couldn't hurt.

They can have both of Chibs and Lambert in the AHL for more development if need be but I expect one to make the team.

I'd have said Chibs is a lock but his significant injury may impact that. He may need a 1/4 to 1/2 season to get back up to speed.

Yeah i really think Chibrikov can translate much easier as an effective nhler. Injury really sucks

Ehlers in the box in the 2nd period of game 7 looked pretty teary eyed…maybe thinking about possibly his last game as a Jet.
