Why is Horvat playing 23 minutes on one leg in a game where they were getting blownout?

There are only 2 categories of players to Travis Green:

Veterans you play til they drop.

Kids/minor-leaguers who must play less than 10 minutes/game.

This is why you see insanity of Horvat/Vesey killing penalties horribly when Hawryluk/Graovac types could do a better job.

In all seriousness - they played well. Absolutely nothing went their way tonight until that Hoglander goal. They were better in this game than they were in pretty much any of the games in their win streak.

Hockey is weird sometimes.

Hard not to feel like these two losses were the death knell for our playoff hopes, though. It’s a weird season and strange things can happen, but man. We needed those two.

Tyler Myers is like Brandon Sutter on D

Sutter will literally f***ing look off going to the bench and stay on if the puck is coming back, like hey f***face, you do nothing to stop the puck entering the net by staying out there for another 50 seconds after a minute+ on the ice.

It's not really a fair fight.....the Jets are so disciplined and so well coached....and the Canucks are so poorly disciplined and poorly coached.

Seems almost fitting that the two opening goals came on a couple of too-many-men on the ice penalties...and third because they couldn't get Myers off the ice in three minutes. Apparently more than half way through the season, the Canucks can't even change lines properly.

Canucks don't really belong on the same ice as the Jets this season.....maybe next year.

They needed to win those 2 games in Montreal in regulation to have any chance at playoffs. Didn't happen.
We rarely win against the Jets, whether we play good, bad or indifferent. There's something cosmic going on here.

Hope Petey is back on the 31st - just for the potential entertainment value if nothing else. The team has missed his creativity. I know I have.

Without Petterson we don't have enough scoring depth to compete with the Jets, and even with him wins are tough to come by. Special teams need to be better, I'd try to put Schmitt on pp1 for a couple games. I bet he can pass the puck for a one timer well enough and we know he shoots a lot better than Hughes which will give that pp another option with Petey out.
