He was good 3-4 years ago and/or is a brand name. Like every Benning UFA signing.
This can't be emphasized enough. Think about it.

Did Jake even play? I honestly don't remember a single shift.
It's amazing how Roussel continues to stay in the lineup ahead of MacEwen (and even Hawryluk/Michealis).
I mean it won't change the outcome of the game but c'mon lol
From un underlying number standpoint
This was Hughes best game of the year
1 assist
Very solid possession 5v5
16+ minutes 5v5
HD scoring chances 6-1 when he was on the ice.
and he played about 9-10 minutes 5v5 against Ehlers and Kyle Connor the most of any winnipeg's players.
THAT is vintage Hughes from last season.
Been waiting for this all season
Yeesh, no thanks. I'd rather keep Myers and Miller, let Holtby get selected since he's so checked out on this team alreadyYours are all more important but I'll throw Myers getting picked up in the expansion draft and Miller traded for blue chip and 2022 1st on the wishlist for the year.
Lololol. But is he more handsome with or without his fake teeth?f*** that, Mike Ricci all the way
holtby isn't even top five of goalies most likely to be selectedYeesh, no thanks. I'd rather keep Myers and Miller, let Holtby get selected since he's so checked out on this team already
Only MacEwen played less. He sat for most of the 3rd.
Although Winnipeg is my first team, Vancouver is second. I really want Vancouver to make the playoffs so I'm glad canucks at least got a point out of this game.Lololol. But is he more handsome with or without his fake teeth?
The conflicting thing is, the Canucks played well, the Jets stole this one a bit. And the Canucks has played quite well the last 4-5 games with not much to show for it. But if we keep losing, getting an elite D to go with Hughes this year would cement that elite core that much more. Once the crap in the bottom six expires, we should take off and won't get a chance to draft top 10 for a while.Time to play Demko until he drops dead from exhaustion. Or stick with Holtby and fire up the heavily armoured Tiger.

That is good but honestly Hughes lack of d has been as much reason for losses on multiple occasions as any other player he needs to be better .
I dont understand how we can just trot out the same top lines and pairs every night and hope something will change.
Try something different , double shift some guys create mismatches.
What do you call a team that wins only 2 games in their last 11 games?
A bad team.
That's what they are, "playing well" doesn't mean anything if you don't get results.
Yeah it boggles my mind that someone earlier in the thread said Hughes worries him (in the context of signing he and Pettersson to big extensions). From un underlying number standpoint

At no point, Brandon, at no point.
I mean 4+ million dollar 30+ year old backup goalies with a subpar save percentage are so hard to sign via free agency.Yeesh, no thanks. I'd rather keep Myers and Miller, let Holtby get selected since he's so checked out on this team already
ya he's definitely not statistically league worst defensively over the past yearYeah it boggles my mind that someone earlier in the thread said Hughes worries him (in the context of signing he and Pettersson to big extensions).
I hate the idea of losing too, but one step back to take a giant leap (in two years) forward. Avs did it. We need a much smarter GM though. The conflicting thing is, the Canucks played well, the Jets stole this one a bit.
