I don't think PLD really cares about hockey. Which is fine, lots of people don't. But giving him a long term well paid contract probably killed whatever motivation he ever had. And he's just such a useless player out there when he doesn't work his tail off.
The Kings board is decrying Blake for giving a long-term, high-paying contract to a player with known "effort and character issues."

I love it.

Just went and re-watched the highlights. Man I love watching Ehlers when he is flying. Just so exciting to watch.
I don't understand why some who want to trade him, top teams would kill to have him..........what a second we are a top team. When he plays like tonight it's just a pleasure. I don't know if his mom and sister are still in town by he seems happier and his game is showing it

Jets haven't allowed more than 3 goals in the last 18 games going 12-6-0.

Schmidt showing Bones that as long as he is healthy, Stanley can eat popcorn and never has to see the ice in a Jets' uni again.
Vilardi showing LA management what he is capable of while PLD does the same thing...
Sammy getting almost 16 minutes is nice.
Pionk having a good game/season. I always gave him the benefit of the doubt because he usually plays really well in the playoffs.
JMo played well again.

Great job by the coaching staff.
Scheif's line dominant.
Helle showing everyone he is one of the best goalies on the planet.
Scheif was the only forward with over 17 minutes with 18:48 TOI.

Three games in 4 days, two hours out of our time zone, and we took it to them the last 2 periods of the game.
It's a dog fight for the top 3 spots in the Central.

Kings announcer called out that "this is the most the kings have been outplayed in awhile". Dominant showing by the team especially the first line. They were just so fast out there where the Kings couldn't really catch up. Kept the Kings at 6 shots on net in the third where they only had 1 shot in the last 11 minutes. Statement game defensively and offensively.

All I know is if Chevy did trade him, he’d probably somehow win the trade. I mean he has a pretty good reputation. I’d trade him for Makar or Mackinnon at 50% being retained by the avs.

This is a game that has all the makings of everything we've all seen too many times before.

A slow start, a few unfortunate things cause us to go down, and then we suddenly find ourselves on the road against a good team and playing catch-up.

The boohooing about penalties, bad bounces, deserving a better fate and etcetera started to creep in, as usual (Sawyer is really bad for this).

This team showed us that this year is different with a fantastic effort that seemed to shock the Kings.

I'm impressed with this team and I think they may mean business like they arguably haven't in previously years.

I don't miss Wheeler, I certainly don't miss PLD, and I think the new guys have shown their value like crazy.

Next.

Reffing is wildly inconsistent but it is inconsistent both ways.
All teams think the refs have it in for them.
It more or less evens out at the end of the season but for the best hockey league in the world, you'd think it would be a way more consistent.
Don't even start me on the DOPS.

I highly doubt this is actually true

Another great game to be at on my California road trip! I was at the win vs Ducks but not the loss vs Sharks, so 2-0 for me.

Lots of fun screaming with the other Jets fans sprinkled here and there in the arena. For some reason Kings fans booed Vilardi - I don't get that.. it's not like he asked to be traded...

I did my best to boo PLD! I really enjoyed watching him screw up a 2 on 1 for the Kings. After Vilardi scored, I chanted "Vilardi's better!" but for some reason it didn't catch on 😂.

Great to get revenge on the Kings and PLD after they beat us on our home ice earlier this season.

Man, that Crypto.com arena is impressive. Three levels of suites and just an intimidating place to be. Crowd was pretty full and high energy until we pulled away in the 3rd. Waaay more energy in the rink than Anaheim, not surprisingly.

A couple of other things I noticed the Kings do that I wish the Jets did:
- at some TV timeouts, play party type songs that everyone knows with lyrics on the scoreboard. They did Beastie Boys' Fight for Your Right and would turn off the music at key points and the crowd would sing in the gaps. Totally got the place hopping.
- The Kings have a season-long contest to win an SUV. Fans complete by curling and winners move on in a tournament style bracket until someone wins the SUV at the end of the season. That would generate excitement in Winnipeg for sure. Chipmans own a car dealership.. seems like an easy win, no?

On the other hand, the cheapest beer I saw there was $16.50 US. Noooooo thank you! It makes me appreciate the Jets Winnipeg-friendly prices more now that I've seen how bad it could be.

Anyway, great game. GJG!

It'd be kind of hard to prove one way or the other as it is so subjective, no?
You don't think the Kings' fans complained about the reffing?
I just find it hard to believe that just because reffing is bad in the nhl means that it is all going to even out over time, there will be teams that get screwed over in more games then they get the benefit from poor reffing, I think people just throw out the "it all evens up in the end" line because it sounds nice but isn't actually true

Glad to hear you enjoyed the game at Staples Center*!

I love the organ there and the fact there always seems to be a haze hanging in the air for no reason. Great fans too.

Most expensive arena for beers I've ever been to though. $16.50 US for a can of Keith's...wowsers...

Next time you go to California, you owe it to yourself to see a Sharks game in San Jose because that is a great place to see a game. Maybe wait until the Sharks are a bit better?

Oh yeah and I agree that the Ducks arena just flat out sucks.
