I'm still hoping we go shopping with some futures this summer to add a high end 2C.

Statistically we had the worst producing 2nd line in the league heading into the season with Newhook/Dach/Armia. Laine is a good addition, but with Newhook and Dach on his line I don't think we'll ever see much production out of him 5 on 5. He needs some defensively responsible line mates with high-end playmaking to set him up if we want to get the most out of him.

At some point next season I'd love to see something along the lines of Demidov-Suzuki-Laine
and Slaf-New 2C- Caufield as our top 6. If Laine can't produce 5 on 5 with that line I don't think he ever will, and that second line could be much more effective than our current 2nd line if we can find the right piece at center.

He isnt good, MsL rightly doesnt use him but all it does is put more heavy lifting on other forwards during a condensed schedule

I always hated that excuse from players.

"I make millions of dollars a year to play this sport for your team, for your entertainment, but if you have anything bad to say about my play, then you're not a a true fan!"

(obviously social media harassment/threats is a different beast, but I'm talking criticism)
