Jets @ Canadiens Tues Jan 28th 7pm EST

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
They'll start Monty, he's got his rest in so he should be good to go.. but Dobes should get the Thursday game. Monty should not get back to back starts unless Dobes tails off.
Especially since Monty will be at the 4 nations while everyone else will be resting.

Give Monty and Dobes every other game until the 4 nations. Then see how much Monty plays at the 4 nations, and re-evaluate after the break.

I would suggest to stop conceding 40 sog per game. Our D has not been good recently and it's not without reminding me of october and november.
Shots could be 25 per game and the result would lagely be the same as the goalie is letting in the majority of the goals on the first 20 shots.

Lowry is on IR for the Jets. I think the Habs have a big advantage in the bottom two lines and also the 2nd line.

Not sure if we win or loose but the Habs will be in this game. Doubt it will be a 5-1 blowout.
If they have advantage on 3/4 of the lines it should be a win.

Habs will be in this game. 2 losses in a row and Jets with 3 W's in a row and a comfortable lead in their division. I'm sure the Jets show up but this is not a game they are desperate for a W.

Don't think the depth is a massive advantage for the Habs but we should have the edge there.

Man grown ass men playing at home living in 5 stars hotel to tired to do training. Imagine saying that in your daily job
It's apparently Suzuki who give his input if the boys are too tired to practice.

But they clearly are tired, the ~16 games with travel between each ones (more km travelled during that time than some teams will do over the whole season) followed by playing every other day for two weeks + whatever bugs was in the locker room (I doubt only Laine and Newhook got it) is showing the wear and tear right now.

If we are going to win we need our top two lines to do it. Our bottom six just isn't that good despite what some have said in the past. Montembault against Hellybuyck looks like a huge advantage for Team USA.

NO PENALTIES Winnipeg's top three have 28 PP goals one less than our entire team.
They also have 18 more from secondary scoring and defense.

Line match ups are critical and the easiest line to score against is actually their top line who have great numbers offensively but also give up the most goals 5v5. I think we have to go head to head but I won't be surprised if Marty goes with Evans which I think might be a mistake.

We probably need to keep the GA to 2 or less to grab points in this one.
Winnipeg knows if they pot three they usually win or pick up points at the very least.

Go Habs Go This is a must win grab points games.

I think we are getting destroyed in this one, team hasn't looked good, Jets are huge and play hard down low. Hutson needs a better game after a few bad ones.

Also live feed of @OldCraig71 getting ready for the game and HF

Maybe Hutson need a. less ice time b. someone other than Matheson

Still no live threads?
My GDT's are nearly live because I usually don't post much live.
I like to comment on the game between periods and make guesses on what needs to happen going forward. It also eliminates some of the emotional outbursts live threads can bring out of me. Mind you I will dive in if it bugs me enough like Suzuki's first period the other night against NJD.

They are not going to start Dobes. They should though.

I'd go Monty today. Probably dobes for the next game.

Both goalies need to be better though if the Habs are going to stay in this race. I know dobes is at least getting results but his form is getting looser recently.

Tampa Bay played better than us, but we won.
Detroit dominated us.
Devils played better than us, but we managed to get a point.
It's 3 bad games in a row.

We need to score first. Lately, we have played a lot of trailing games.
imo it started when Heineman went down :(

seems like the Habs are actually a very good team but only when 100% healthy
