Loved the game, and the outcome. Have to admit, I was worried that the hockey gods were going to steal one back from us, for what Helle did earlier in the season. But the right team won.

The hit on Schmitty was late and high. You can see his head whip to the side when the shoulder/elbow make contact. Hope he is ok, with no lasting concussion symptoms

Haven't been able to catch a game in ages, but great to see that they're playing well after what looked like a potentially dangerous double-dip, and that youse all are keeping the train rolling on in here.

Really looking forward to seeing the team back closer to full strength but also good to see the points still coming, especially in divisional games.

It would a been devastating to lose this one, domination for the most part so many chances but Saros locked the door until KFC squeaked one thru. Helle let the first shot in but that was it.

I wonder what the zone time was. Never saw that but it must have been about 3:1 for Jets.

How much was it better play by Jets (compared to previous 2) and how much was it worse play by the opponent? Hard to say of course, but it looked to me like Jets really tightened up defensively.

Players may have been feeling better as well. No doubt the competition wasn't as good but I'd say the team really brought it last night as well.

Man the Rangers gave up Barron and a 1st for one playoff run with Copp.

Steal by Chevy. Barron can play.
I am happy with Barron. But to say that the Rangers got robbed? With a strong contribution from Copp, they went to the Eastern Conference Finals and took the Lightning to game 6. That's better than the Jets best year ever (2017-18).

Wasn’t following the GDT but what the heck with that hit on Schmidt. I thought it was a clear headshot. Not sure why that was not a penalty. Even the announcers didn’t mention it. Am I wrong and that was clean?

Also think that was one of the best games I’ve ever seen Scheifele play and he didn’t even get a point.

Clear headshot IMO too.
Refs can't call what they didn't see, I guess.

They got robbed.

If the Jets did the reverse they would be burned at the stake.

Copp was a solid contributor for the rags but you have to measure the impact he had. Would they have gotten as far without him?

At the end of the day they didn't win and the Jets parlayed a player that was leaving in FA for a bona-fide NHLer with lots of team control and a player that has the skillset to be a star top 6 scorer for years to come.

I feel like the hit was clean, but in the definition the NHL has been using it was somewhat predatory, as Schmidt was involved with another player in that play and Jeanot came in very last minute.

It did make me long for Byfuglien who wouldn't have stopped the hit from happening but could have beat the piss out of him after.

He had another really strong game. I'm not focusing on one shift.
I only caught bits of the game, but that ot shift reminded me of his last game in Columbus. Not good.

Hope you're right. But I don't see a star top 6er.

We padded the shot clock with a bunch of weak, perimeter shots against one of the league's worst teams. I wasn't impressed with that effort last night at all. This team has shown that it can be much quicker and sharper.

As a fan this is a classic win win trade. NYR needed Copp and he gave them full value. But it cost them a fair bit which we benefitted from. Didn't we get TWO picks though? Two conditional 2nd round picks, one of which became a 1st rounder (which turned into Adam Lambert?) when they made the ECF? Not sure what became of the second pick though.

Didn't say that Rangers got robbed, it was a steal for the Jets though.

Copp is a nice player don't get me wrong, but to get a first and a solid bottom 6 guy for him at the deadline is fantastic.

That Rangers team was terribly overrated too, just carried by one of the best seasons by a goalie in recent memory. Really should not have made it anywhere near as far as they did.

High and very late......I'm surprised anyone is saying otherwise!

This team is going to get a huge boost of speed and talent when Ehlers comes back. I like Eyssimont but wow can you imagine Ehlers with Connor and Dubois.
Yep, you just hope that they don’t lose someone else in top 6 which could have hurt us worse.

they went to the ecf. Copp was a solid contributor but it’s not like Copp would have got us to the wcf.

If the Jets did the reverse - hmm. So for example: if the Jets traded a first rounder and a fourth rounder, plus a roster player and lost in the FIRST ROUND of the playoffs, they would be burned at the stake. And imagine if the guy they traded for ended up playing on the 4th line - would that be burned at the steak, but with extra steak sauce?

In professional sports, results matter. The Rangers got an excellent result with Copp, especially since they weren't expected to get where they did. A lot of playoff Revenue $, plus goodwill with the fans. Who the hell knows what result they would have gotten without him - no one. And if the only measure of 'they didn't win' means 'they didn't win the cup', then I guess the Jets are in a glass house and shouldn't be throwing stones about deadline deals.

I don’t think Copp made that much of a difference. Shesty and the rest of their stars played out of their minds.
NYR being in New York will always make lots of money and have fans clamouring for tickets unlike all the empty seats the Jets are dealing with.

Well, Copp was part of the top 5 in scoring in the playoffs for the Rags, and played a good 2 way game which is critical in the post season. I think that NYR and the Rangers fans are happy with what they got from Copp, and how the team performed in the post season. My 0.02.
