The Moose don't play again until next Saturday & the Jets are home until the break. The Jets won't need a 12th forward until Tuesday.

Cap space is accrued daily, so this is likely a paper transaction with a "call-up" Tuesday morning.
Ok good so it has nothing to do with Trump's tariffs!:D

Cozens is a risk and sure he is having a bad year but he is also stuck on a dumpster fire of a team, we need a long term 2C solution and anyone that has watched Cozens play can see the ceiling of this kid is still quite high, the talent is definitely there.

Vlad is never going to be a top 6 centre but Cozens just might and whilst we need help now we also need to look toward our future, I think it's worth the risk.
I didn't mean to compare their potential.
I just thought another player in the NHL may be a safer fit.
Anything that shakes up the chemistry of our room has to be carefully considered.
Cozens also comes with a fairly large salary that impacts our ability to sign Vilardi, Samberg and our UFA's.
All complicated stuff that I'll leave up to Chevy and his team.

These two days cost Ford and Lambert about $8k each but I doubt they are complaining. Between taxes, tickets for friends and family, and rookie dinners, they probably lost money getting called up. And they are happy as pigs in muck.

You can never take that night away from Ford. It will be a huge memory for the rest of his life and for his family too. He didn’t almost make the NHL he played a game, and scored a goal in front of his family in Boston. That is story book stuff for a guy like him.

Ford was up for 5 days (January 30-February 3). Rough numbers, but his $867,500 cap hit divided by the length of the NHL season in days (usually 184 days) has him making $4714.00 a day when up with the big club. He likely made in the neighborhood of $23,575.00 in his short stint.

Ford minors salary is $80,000.00 so he made over 29% of his yearly salary in just 5 days with the big club.

Even with all those tickets & dinner at the $8000 you suggested, he'll have came out well ahead.

He was also recalled a few hours ago as expected. In all likelihood he's up another few days & will have made half his annual salary in a just a week.
