Just wondering if a deal could be made where the primary pieces are around the Jets sending Ville Heinola to the Flyers for Risto Ristolainen?

Ristolainen hasn't lived up to expectations in the NHL, but the form will come, the Finn will stay, the Finn is an important cog for Philadelphia.
Send him to San Jose

Ristolainen has actually been better this season, but the contract is a concern. He’s shown promise before just to fall apart again.

I'm for sure in the minority among Jets fans but I would actually love to get Risto with the Jets right now they have Collin Miller as the #3 RHD and I think that's a spot that could be upgraded.

A deal involving Heinola though is probably not going to be on the table. The Jets certainly appear to believe in the player and the impatience for getting a guy with some size for the #3 RD spot would be Heinola taking that job from the current incumbents Logan Stanley and Hayden Fluey. A Heinola Miller pair is a little on the small side and one of them would need to play 2nd PK which isn't ideal. If you move Villie that need to bring in size opposite to him isn't there.

Risto a bit redundant with Samberg, but I guess that could be a good thing.

This flyers fan would do it

Cannot think of a worse fit for Heinola than PHI and a worse fit for Ristolainen than WPG

Chevy's response ........

This makes no sense from a Jets POV, VH has gotten two early season injuries last two years, current coach is very high on him. No chance this happens

The Flyers are on a constant "Ristolainen rehabilitated" PR push trying to raise his value, but it's bunk. Risto looks better as a Flyer because Torts coaches remedial shot-block-and-chase hockey that shelters dumb players like Risto by asking very little thinking from them. But Risto still makes horrible reads all the time and handles the puck like a grenade, so any modern NHL team (one that does things like "completing breakout passes" or "cycling the puck in the offensive zone") should be smart enough to realize he should not play serious minutes for them.
